Rabbi Richard Lehrman
Rabbi Richard Lehrman, 41, of
Atlanta, spiritual leader of Temple
Sinai, died Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Funeral service was held
Thursday, Nov. 15, at Temple
Sinai with Rabbis Harvey J.
Winokur, Alvin Sugarman, and
Michael Barenbaum officiating.
Interment was in Crest Lawn
Memorial Park.
A native of Harrisburg, Pa.,
Rabbi Lehrman attended
Villanova University and was a
graduate of the University of
Cincinnati. He received both a
bachelor’s and master's degree in
Hebrew letters from Hebrew
Union College in Cincinnati,
where he was ordained in 1965.
Rabbi Lehrman was assistant
rabbi at the Temple from 1965-68
before assuming the pulpit at
Temple Sinai in 1968. He was past
president of the Atlanta
Rabbinical Association, a member
of the Northside Ministerial
Association, and was active on the
pastoral staffs of Northside and St.
Joseph’s Hospitals.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Jerry Lehrman; sons, Andy and
Danny Lehrman, and step
children, Andy, Tracy, and Brad
Reiman, all of Atlanta; parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lehrman of
Harrisburg. Pa.; grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Simon of
Springville, N.Y., and several
aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Sam Abram, 88, of
Fit/gcrald. Ga., died Tuesday,
Nov. 13.
Funeral service was held
Thursday. Nov. 15, in l it/gerald
with interment in Hebrew
Congregation Cemetery.
Survivors include two
daughters, Mrs Jeanette Bernstein
and Mrs. Ruthann Reis, both of
Washington, D.C.; sons. Dr.
Lewis Abram of Cleveland, Ohio,
and attorney Morris Abram of
New York, formerly of Atlanta;
brothers, Ralph Cohen of Reno,
Nev., and Milton Cole of New
Orleans
Alvin Pergament
Alvin Pergament, 66, of
Marietta died Sunday, Nov. II.
Graveside service was held
Tuesday, Nov. f3, _ at Crest Lawn
Memorial Park with Rabbi Alvin
Sugarman officiating.
Mr. Pergament, a sales
representative for a shoe business,
was a member of the Temple.
Survivors include his wife. Mrs.
Pearl Diamond Pergament;
daughter, Mrs. Revelle Allen of
Stanford, Conn.; sons, Michael
Pergament of St. Paul, Minn., and
David Pergament of Tampa. Fla.;
sister, Mrs. Irene Korkes of
Lindenwood. III.; brother, Milton
Pergament of Atlanta, and five
grandchildren.

Max Weiner
Max Weiner, 86, of Philadel
phia, a native of Latvia, died
Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Funeral service was held Friday,
Nov. 9, in Philadelphia.
Mr. Weiner, the husband of the
late Bessie Chairney Weiner, is
survivied by four sons, Gershon
Weiner of Allentown, Pa., Dr.
Raymond Weiner and the Hon.
Charles Weiner, both of
Philadelphia, and Dr. Daniel
Weiner of Atlanta, and six
grandchildren.
Hymie Susman
Hymie Susman, 65, of Miami
Beach, formerly of Atlanta and
Chattanooga, died Saturday, Nov.
10.
Funeral service was held
Monday, Nov. 12, at Greenlawn
Chapel with Rabbi Alvin
Sugarman officiating. Interment
was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Susman was a member of
Fulton Lodge No. 216, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Sylvia Nussbaum Susman; son,
Seymour Susman of Atlanta;
sisters, Mrs. Dora Monete of
Chattanooga and Mrs. Dinah
Taud of New York City; brother,
Joe Susman of Dalton, Ga. and
two grandsons. ,
Mrs. Rose Blumenthal Mrs. Margaret Rubin

Mrs. Rose Slifkin Blumenthal,
93, of Savannah, died Saturday,
Nov. 10.
Funeral service was held
Monday, Nov. 12, in Savannah
with interment in Bonaventure
Cemetery.
Mrs. Blumenthal was a native of
Russia and a resident of Savannah
since 1909. She was a longtime
member of B’nai B’rith Jacob
Synagogue and a member of the
Hebrew Women’s Aid Society and
the Jewish Education Alliance.
Survivors include daughters,
Mrs. Harold Cantor and Mrs.
L.A. Cohen, both of Savannah;
sons, Saul M. Blumenthal of
Atlanta and Herbert Blumenthal
of Savannah; sister, Mrs. Max
Gordon of Savannah; I I
grandchildren and 20 great
grandchildren.
Stanley Emeson
Stanlev E. Emeson, 58, of
Greeley, Colo., died Sunday, Oct.
28.
Funeral service was held
Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Denver.
Survivors include two
daughters, Deborah Able of
Denver and Michelle Ress of Fort
Lee, N.J.; brothers, Sidney A.
Emeson of Atlanta and David L.
Emeson of Lakeview, Ore., and
one grandson.

Mrs. Margaret Samet Rubin,
82, of Atlanta died Friday, Nov. 9.
Graveside service was held
Monday, Nov. 12, at Greenwood
Cemetery with Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein and Cantor Isaac

Mrs. Rubin, the widow of
Morris Rubin, is survived by her
son, Sigmond Rubin of West Palm
Beach; sisters, Misses Pauline and
Thelma Samet of Miami Beach;
brothers, Jack and William Samet
of Miami and Louis Samet of
Atlanta, and several grand
children.
Dr. Harold Monett
Dr. Harold L. Monett, 61, of
Columbus, Ohio, died Tuesday,
Oct. 30.
Funeral service was held
Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Temple
Israel in Columbus with Rabbi
Harvey Goldman officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Jean Gup Monett of Columbus,
