Mizrachi Women
Atlanta Chapter, American
Mizrachi Women will hold its
Donor Dinner at 7 p.m., Tuesday,
Dec. II, at Congregation Beth
Jacob. A cocktail reception will
precede the dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will celebrate the
54th year of Mizrachi Women,
which is dedicated to the education
of Israeli youth; the 25th year of its
Mother-in-Israel program, and the
International Year of the Child.
Entertainment will include a
performance by the Atlanta Civic
Opera.
Hannah Robkin is president of
the Atlanta chapter. Ticket
chairperson for the donor is Eva

holiday party tray
Atlanta B’nai B’rith Women is
offering a holiday mixed-nut
assortment, packaged for gift
giving this year as a fund-raising
effort.
The party tray, which costs $10,
is suitable for business and
individual gifts, and can be mailed
or delivered at a small extra

Atlanta Post No. 112
holds joint meeting
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Jewish War Veterans, Atlanta
Post No. 112, will hold a joint
meeting with the members of the
Post at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27,
at the Atlanta Artists Gallery and
Club, 2979 Grandview Avenue,
N.E.
Karen Wantuck, cultural arts
director at the Atlanta Jewish
Community Center, will present a
program with slides of Jewish art
entitled, “Did We Break the
Second Commandment.”
A membership drive is now
underway for newcomers to the
community who may have been
members of posts or auxiliaries in
their former hometowns, as well as
for those who have never been
affiliated with a JWV post or
auxiliary. Membership is open to
Jewish veterans and their families.
Programs being planned by the
Ladies Auxiliary include an
evening of entertainment with the
Dogwood Cloggettes at the VA
Hospital on Monday, Dec. 17, and
a visit with residents at the hospital
in Milledgeville.

Gesher Tzion Mizrachi
reviews children’s books
The Gesher Tzion Mizrachi
Chapter of American Mizrachi
Women will meet at 8 p.m.,
Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the home of
RitaShloush, I34I Bramble Road,
N.E.
Hazel Karp, librarian at the
Hebrew Academy, will speak on
Jewish books for children.
Members are also requested to
continue saving A&P receipts for
WRNG Radio’s Community Club
Awards Contest.

Bat Shalom Hadassah
gets into shape
Bat Shalom Hadassah will hold
an exercise workshop with
physical fitness expert Arden Zinn
at 7.45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at
the AJCC/Peachtree.
Health foods will be served for
$1.50 a person. For more

The Temple Sisterhood
cooks around the world
The Temple Sisterhood will
present a cooking demonstration,
“Cooking Around the World,”
with culinary expert Ursula
Knaeusal, at 11 a m.. Monday,
Dec. 3, at the Temple. A general
meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m.,
with lunch to follow the
demonstration.
Sisterhood members from all
synagogues are invited to attend.
Ms. Knaeusal will share her
gourmet tips and recipes, and will
also award door prizes.
The cost is $4 for members, $6
for guests. For reservations

A Hanuka bazaar will also be
held Sunday-Monday, Dec. 2-3, at
the Temple. Various holiday items
and gifts will be available.
Rabbi Tam addresses
North Suburban ORT
North Suburban ORT will have
a luncheon meeting beginning at
10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the
home of Bob and Charlotte
Sherman, 390 Ferry Landing,
River Chase.
Rabbi Donald Tam of Temple
Emanu-El will be the featured
speaker. A catered lunch will be
available at a cost of $4.50 a
person. Reservations are required.

The chapter will also hold a
study group at 7:30 p.m., Sunday,

Marriage." The public is invited to
attend.
