Atlanta Lodge hosts Mideast expert
Dr. Kenneth W. Stein will be the
featured speaker at the next
meeting of Atlanta Lodge, B’nai
B’rith at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb.
14, at the Atlanta Jewish
Community Center’s Peachtree
building.
Dr. Stein, director of tjie
International Studies Program at
Emory University, will discuss the
current turmoil in the Mideast. He
holds advanced degrees from the
University of Michigan and since
1977 has been at Emory, teaching
such courses as “The Rise of
Islam,” "Modern Arab National
ism," and “The Middle East at War
in the 20th Century."

Jewish Home bingo
The Atlanta Chapter City of
Hope will sponsor the next bingo
game at the Jewish Home at 7:30
p.m., Monday, Feb. 11. Chavyerot
B’nai B’rith Women sponsored the
first February game last

Zelma Bodzin Feb. 21
Zebu Bodzin
Pianist Zelma Bodzin, whom
Eugene List "greatly admired,"
will perform a free concert at 8
p.m., Thursday, Feb, 21, at the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center’s Peachtree facility.
Bodzia, who has performed on
WNTC Radio in New York as well
as in Vienna, Malta and Italy,
comes to Atlanta after saving as
chairwoman of the Piano
Department at Newark's Center of
the Artt id New Jersey.

Atlanta NCJW holds
new member coffee
The Atlanta Section-National
Council of Jewish Women will
hold a new membership coffee at
10 p.m., Monday, Feb. II, at the
home of Michal Hillman.

Drivers get educated
at AJCC/Zaban class
Driver’s education will be
offered on Thursday evenings,
beginning Feb. 14, at the AJCC
Zabah Branch. The minimum age
requirement for enrollment is. 13
yean.
Kent 'Milner, accredited driving
instructor and former DeKalb
police officer, will again be teach
ing the class.
The course includes six houn of
individual behind-the-wheel
instruction, and 12 hours of
classroom time. ,
Those successfully completing
the course will receive a certificate
entitling new drivers to reduced
insurance rates. For fees and

Aviva Hadassah has
‘an evening out*
Aviva Hadassah will have “An
Evening out" at 8 p.m., Saturday,
Feb. 9, at the Les Jardins
Clubhouse, 3207 Henderson Mill
Rd„ N.E.
Participants will learn how to
prepare hors d’oeuvres and sangria
and then get to eat their results.
Admission is $3.50 a person.
