Sisterhood will hold a shower for
the kitchen of its new home at
2 p.m., Sunday, Aug 10, at the
home of Randi Passoff, 2581 Bent
Brook Court.
The sisterhood will organize the
kosher kitchen when Beth Shalom
moves into its new building New
and prospective members are
invited to attend.
A congregational meeting will

B’nal B’rith offers
new JVW stamps
The Jewish War Veterans of the
USA are the subjects on the cachet
(illustration) of a first day cover
issued by. the B'nai B’rith Philatelic
Service in connection with the new
Veterans Administration stamp,
issued July 21. •
The cachet honoring the Jewish
War Veterans depicts the national
shrine and national headquarters
building in Washington, D.C. The
JWV, founded in 1896 by a group
of Jewish veterans of the Civil
War, carries on an extensive
program committed to the
upholding of America’s
democratic traditions, assisting
veterans and their dependents, as
well as promoting the cause of
' Israel and the Jewish people.
The fuss day covers can be
obtained by sending $1.25 (single
stamp) or $2.50 (block of stamps)
for each cover and a stamped, self-
addressed legal-size envelope to

On Sunday, July 13, Beth
Shalom’s sisterhood held a recipe
brunch.
Blue ribbons were awarded to
Shelly Pomerance for her rice
pudding Lish Stuart for low-
' calorie cheesecake, and Alison
Zanvillc for curried tuna.
These and other recipes will be
included in Beth Shalom’s
cookbook scheduled for
publication In 1982.
JVS offers counseling
for college students
College students will be the
focus of attention in August at the
Jewish Vocational Service of the
Atlanta Jewish Federation. JVS’s
educational and vocational
counseling and testing prodram
will be available to students who
are interested in knowing more
about themselves and their career
alternatives.
With many college students
holding day-time jobs, JVS has set
up a program to accommodate
students in the evening program.
Program participants kill
determine their values, their
abilities and their interests as these
factors apply to career pismning.
Tbe program consists of both
testing and counseling All the
counseling sessions are on an
individual basis. There will be a
follow-up for summer participants
during school vacations during the
