I.enore Bohm, daughter of
Trudie and Fred Bohm of
Atlanta, recently gave the
invocation preceding the
business agenda at the meeting
of the Cincinnati City Council.
She was invited by Mayor
David Mann.
Ms. Bohm, who will be
ordained into the rabbinate in
June by the Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of
Religion, has the distinction of
being the first woman rabbi
honored with this request.
She is currently serving a
congregation twice a week in
Rome.

Carole and Joel Goldberg of
Atlanta are chairpersons for the
first Red Cross Benefit Ball, to be
held on Friday, Feb. 12. The event
is being presented by the Omni
International Hotel for the benefit
of the Metropolitan Atlanta
Chapter of the American Red
Cross.
Goldberg, chairman of the
board of Rich’s, Inc., is a member
of the executive committee of the
Red Cross board.

Sam Massed is the only travel agent from Georgia participating in a
special tourism conference held in Israel Jan. 31 to Feb 5. The invitation
came from Prime Minister Menachem Begin, with sponsorship under the
Ministry of Tourism. Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are the sites of the business
sessions.
International tourism has grown to be a leading industry; having a
significant impact, on economic and social development of many
countries. Israel hosted 1,200,000 visitors in 1980 and in 1981, and wants
to expand this activity. The high-level meeting was planned for selected
worldwide representatives from the Jewish, Christian and general press,
radio stations. Christian leaders and travel agents.
I ouise and Herman Beck receive a plaque for the garden of 100
trees planted in the Atlanta JNF Women’s Forest in the northern
Galilee in memory of Beck's parents, Pauline and Irvin Beck. Amy
Singer, president of Atlanta JNF Women’s Division, makes the

Actor Danny Kaye was recently
honored by Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev with its
1982 Lifetime Achievement
Award. The event was held by the
university’s Western Associates,
and took place at the Beverly
Hilton Hotel. The evening also
marked the establishment of the
Danny Kaye Wing at the George
Burns Education Center of the
university’s Center for Health
Sciences in Beersheva, Israel.
Kaye received messages of
congratulations from Prime
Minister Menachem Begin and
President and Mrs. Ronald
Reagan.

Ross Grumet, M.D., and Alan
Lease, D.D.S., will be guests on
“Your Health News,” at 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, on Cable
Atlanta Channel 16. Dr. Grumet will
discuss drugs and psychiatry and
Dr. Lease will discuss dental
braces for adults.
The producer and host of
“Your Health News” is Dr. David

Frank H. Cooper (center) accepts the keys to a 1982 Datsun
automobile he won in the nationwide sweepstakes called "Team up
With Datsun” from Ted IVOrazo, regional Datsun representative.
The keys to the red car were presented in a ceremony last week at
Regal Datsun in Roswell. On Dec. 24 Cooper received notice that
he was the regional winner of one of 13 cars awarded nationally by
the Nissan Corporation in I'SA. “My first reaction was‘Wow!’”
said Cooper, a salesman with Thompson-Boland-l.ee at I.enox
Square. “1 never won anything before in my life,” he said. Cooper
immediately called his wife. “I was shocked, just stunned,” Mrs.
Cooper said. “1 was just on Cloud 9 all day.” Since Cooper has a
Datsun, hr gave the car to his happy wife. At left is Charlie Scott,
