I he 23rd annual Conference of
Southern Branch of the Women’s
League for Conservative Judaism
will be held in Chattanooga, Tenn ,

The theme for the conference is
“Dealing in Futures." Audrey
(Mrs. Burton) Citak, a native of
New York City, will be the
consultant speaker.
Mrs. Andrea Glazer of
Birmingham. Ala., is overall
chairman of the conference.
Bessie Collins is chairman of local
arrangements.
Mrs. Myra Hoffman of Oak
Ridge, Tenn., is president of
Southern Branch, which consists
of sisterhoods from New Orleans,
Pensacola, Fla., Alabama,
Georgia, South Carolina, North
Carolina and Tennessee.

The City of Hope, Spirit of Life

David Epstein, a specialist in
emergency medical treatment,
from Shallowford Hospital
Emergency Services. His topic will
be "Emergency First Aid for your
Children.” The 1982 slate of
officers will be presented and
elections will be held.

theater party
Sandwoody ORT will hold a
theater party at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 1. The production
will be “Guys and Dolls,”
performed by the Dunwoody Stage
Door Players, at the DeKalb

The play will be followed by
champagne and a late supper.

The installation luncheon for
the 1982-83 slate of officers for
Shearith Israel Sisterhood will
take place at 10:15 a.m. Monday,
May 3, at the synagogue.
The program will feature Max
Robkin, popular Atlanta
humorist. Lunch will be served
at the cost of $5.50 a person.
Reservations may be made to the

The 16th annual Brandeis Used
Book Sale will be held Saturday,
April 24 through Thursday, April
29, at Phipps Plaza, in the parking
area in front of Saks Fifth Avenue.
The sale will be held on
Saturday, April 24, from 7-I0
p.m., and on Sunday, April 25
through Thursday, April 29, from
l() a.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission is free, however
there is a $2.50 donation on
opening night. Free parking and
MARTA bus service will be
available
There will be over 80,000 books
in over 40 categories for sale.
Magazines, records, tapes and
sheet music will be sold. The price
range varies, but the majority of
books may be purchased for under
$ 1.50.
Donated books can be dropped
off at book collection receptacles
in 13 shopping centers in Atlanta,
and in book barrels in public
libraries. Free pickup for large
donations can be arranged.

AJCC to extend
calligraphy class
Cynthia Tyler will extend her
calligraphy class with five
additional sessions from 6:30-9
p.m. April 28, AJCC on Peachtree.
The class, though continuing in
nature, will include beginners. The
course will include the following
styles: Vcrsals, decorated letters,
Carolingian, Italic and Gothic
Cost of the class is $20 for
members and $30 for non
members.

to see Braves game
The AJCC Couples Club plans
an afternoon picnic baseball game
to see the Atlanta Braves face the
St. Louis Cardinals.
