Dr. Joseph P. Sternstein,
immediate past president of the
American Zionist Federation and
a national rabbinic and Zionist
leader, will receive the 1983 Dr.
Harris J. Levine Memorial Award
at the 75th annual dinner of Bnai
Zion on Feb. 20.

Cary Goldstein was installed
as international undergraduate
representative of Alpha Omega
International Dental Fraternity
at the recent 75th annual
convention in New York City.
This was the first time that a
third generation person ever
held an international office in
Alpha Omega. Goldstein's late
grandfather, Dr. Irving H.
Goldstein, served as international
president in 1945 and his father.
Dr. Ronald E. Goldstein of
Atlanta, was international
president in 1976.
A third year dental student at
Medical College of Georgia,
Cary is a member of the
international undergraduate
chapter of Alpha Omega.
The Bat Mitzva of I.emnna
London of Atlanta will take
place at 9 a m. Saturday, Feb.
26, at Ahavath Achim
Synagogue. A congregational
kiddush will follow.
She is the daughter of Sandy
and Bob London, and the
granddaughter of Mary and
Max London of Atlanta, and
Lil and Max Schriber of
Washington, D.C., and the
great-granddaughter of Yetta
Levinson of New York City.
Elisa Zwecker Ezor of Atlanta
has been promoted from assistant
vice president to vice president in
First Georgia Bank's Corporate
Banking Department.
Ezor is the first woman in
Atlanta to receive a degree from
the University of Oklahoma
National Commercial Lending
Graduate School. She is a
graduate of the University of
Florida with a bachelor of science
degree in business administration
in marketing and has received her
master’s degree in business
administration in finance from
Georgia State University.

Adam Naferman of Atlanta
will take place at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, Feb. 26, at the
Temple. A congregational
kiddush will follow.
He is the son of Marcie and
Stuart Naterman, and the
grandson of May Friedman
Goldwasser of Atlanta and the
late Harry Goldwasser, and
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham
Naterman of Walpole, Mass.
Seth will have a proxy bar
mitzva for Dimitry Checkik of
Leningrad, USSR.
Dr. Alon Ben-Meir has been
appointed national director for
regional development of the
Jewish National Fund.
Previously, he was JNFs
central states regional director.
Dr. Ben-Meir will be in
charge of fund-raising for the
JNFs offices throughout the
United States. He will also
organize training programs for
lay leadership, as well as for the
JNF professional staff. In
addition to his new position he
will serve as liaison and
coordinator of the National
Leadership Council.
As a political scientist, Dr.
Alon Ben-Meir is a writer who
has authored Tour books. His
articles and commentaries on
international relations
frequently appear in newspapers
and other U.S. publications.

Hope Murovitz of Atlanta will

She is the daughter of
Barbara and Mark Murovitz,
and (he granddaughter of
Sophie Murovitz and Milton
and Ruth Caplan, all of
Charleston, W.V.
Marny will have a proxy bat
mitzva for Olga Kogan of
Leningrad, USSR.
Mary Abbott Waite, English
instructor at Yeshiva High
School, recently received her
Ph. D. from Duke U niversity on
the subject, “Nathaniel
Hawthorne and the Received
Tradition: The Impact of
Popular Fiction on His Work."
Dr. Waite has been teaching
for the past two years at
Yeshiva and operates an editing
business in her free time. She
also coaches the girls' junior
varsity basketball team.
A husband-and-wife team will
speak on art history at Emory
University Monday, Feb. 28.
Marilyn Aronberg-Lavin will
speak on “14th and 15th Century
Fresco Cycles in Italy." Mrs. Lavin
has served as consultant to Time-
Life for the book “The World of
Leonardo da Vinci.” She will
speak at 3:30 p.m.
Irving Lavin will speak on
“Bernini’s ‘Speaking Marbles.”
Lavin is an art historian in the
fields of rcniassance, baroque arts
and late Roman and early
Christian mosaics. He will speak
at 8 p.m.
Both speeches are free and open
to the public.
Ronni and Jeffrey Roaengarten
of Atlanta announce the birth of a
son, Harold G., on Jan. 12.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Ira Gold of New York, and Mr.
and Mrs. Nathan Gurvitch of New
York and North Miami Beach.

Rosengartcn Great-grandmothers
are Mrs. Charles Lewis of North

The bris was performed by
Rabbi Akiva Ostrovsky. Harold
