Tannenbaum is speaker for Hadassah fund-raiser Bernice Tannenbaum, immediate past president of National Hadassah, will speak to the Atlanta Chapter of Hadassah at the Big Gifts cocktail party. The event had been postponed last October to show solidarity with the community. It now has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the home of Jerome and Harriet Zimmerman. The minimum contribution to attend will be $365. Any donation already made to the 1982 Donor Campaign will be credited toward this minimum. Any increase of $100 over 1981 Donor contribution entitles the donor to a copy of Edna Hible's print “Compassion Through the Generations.” Hadassah is the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, which is the largest women’s volunteer organization in the United States. Mrs. Tannenbaum is currently Tannenbaum chairman of the Hadassah Medical Organization, which includes the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem and a network of clinics as well as full partnership with the He'brew University in various schools of medicine, health and nursing. She has been and is now involved with many other Zionist and Jewish organizations. Among these are membership on thi board of governors of Hebrew University and the United Israel Appeal, general chairwoman of United Jewish Appeal's Queens Women’s Division, and a member of the New York and National United Jewish Appeal advisory boards. In 1953 she was sent to Israel by National Hadassah as its Speaker’s Bureau Fellow-of-the-Year. Mrs. Tannenbaum has been a member of the National Board of Hadassah since 1954, holding various portfolios. Mrs. Tannenbaum made her first trip to Israel in 1950. She has been a delegate to six World Zionist Congresses. Mis. Tannenbaum was recently elected chairwoman of the American Section of the World Zionist Executive at the Zionist Congress in Jerusalem.
