Draaniiations
Yeshiva to present guitarist Goffin
Yeshiva High School will
present Jewish guitarist Sherwood
Goffin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec.
23, at The Excelsior Mill. 695
North Avenue. He will perform his
renditions of Hasidic. Israeli and
Yiddish folk songs.
Goffin has produced four record
albums and has received national
recognition as “America's Voice in
Song for Soviet Jewry.” and has
entertained at every Solidarity
Sunday at the United Nations. He
has performed at Carnegie Hall.
Town Hall. Madison Square
Garden, the Miami Beach
Auditorium and the Los Angeles
Century Plaza Center.
Tickets are $18 a person for
patrons and $10 a person regular.
Proceeds will go to Yeshiva’s
educational outreach program.

will host open market
Congregation Beth Jacob
Sisterhood will host an Open
Market from noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
Dec. 16. at the synagogue. There
will be food, books, gifts and a film
festival for the children.

to discuss child safety
Willeo ORT Chapter will meet
on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the home
of Bunnie Merrill, 5046 Chestnut
Forest Lane. Dory Lorenc and her
“safety kids” will teach the group
how to educate children against
sexual abuse and kidnapping.
Book Review Club
to meet December 12
The Jewish Book Review Club
will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday,
Dec. 12, in the conference room of
the Atlanta Bureau of Jewish Edu
cation.

ian, will" review “Marienbad,” a
comic novel by Sholom Aleichem,
which was recently translated into
English for the First time. The com
munity is invited.

Women’s American ORT will
provide gift wrapping services in
several locations throughout At
lanta.
A store on the upper level of Peri
meter Mall in the new wing serves
as ORTs headquarters at the mall.
There will also be ORT gift wrap
booths in Service Merchandise
stores on Roswell Road in Sandy
Springs, Memorial Drive in Deca
tur and the Doraville store on Bu
ford Highway.

Children of survivors
plan Hanuka party
The Second Generation,
Children of Holocaust Survivors
will hold a family Hanuka party at
5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at
Shearith Israel Synagogue. There
will be a latke dinner and
entertainment.
A highlight of the evening will be
a group picture of survivors, their
children and grandchildren. The
picture will be used at the Yad
Vashem exhibit at the Israel
EXPO, and may become part of
the future resource center.
Anyone who has pictures or
memorabilia from the Holocaust is
asked to contact the organization.

Club 50 announces
Dec. 17 game night
Club 50 will hold a game night at
7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the
