Family Fun Day at Zaban
to entertain kids of all ages
The Atlanta Jewish Community
Center will sponsor its annual Fami
ly Fun Day Sunday, Sept. 8, at
Zaban Park. Beginning at 12:30
p.m., the fun day will include a
carnival with prizes, games, tour
naments and sports events, pony
rides, the Great American Mime
Experiment, the Dunking Machine
and Moonwalk, face painting and
balloons, live music by Inspected
by 12, and lots of food.
Competitive events will begin at
1 p.m. Junior events for children 6
and under will include baseball
roll, standing broad jump, obsta
cle course, football throw, tennis
ball throw and 20-yard dash.
Ten events are scheduled for
ages 7 through senior adults includ
ing a tennis tournament, basket
ball shootout, soccer agility drill,
free throw competition, shuttle run,
baseball and football throws. Prizes
and ribbons will be awarded to all
participants.
Proceeds from Family Fun Day
will be used to buy equipment for
the children’s and adult health and
physical education programs at the
AJCC.

According to Howard Hyman,
chairman of Family Fun Day for
three consecutive years, “Some kids
return wearing last year’s ribbons,
eager to participate in as many
events and activities as they can
pack into the day. Lines form early
for the kids to try their luck at the
carnival, to bounce in the moon-
walk, or to ride the ponies. Fami
lies have lunch together, cheer to
gether and redeem their coupons
for prizes together. Everyone’s a
winner!
