Family Sunday slated
at Home Family Council
The Jewish Home Family Coun
cil will open its fifth season with a
“Family Sunday” event on Sept. 8
at the Jewish Home. Residents and
family members are invited.
Recently elected officers for the
1985-86 year are Julian Raynes,
president; Nate Becker, vice presi
dent; Mary Ginsberg, treasurer;
and Helen Speigel, secretary. Past
president Samuel Weissman will
serve as parliamentarian.
Plans are under way for future
monthly meetings.

The sisterhood of Congregation
Beth Jacob will center its opening
meeting on fashions “From the
Neck Up,” at 7:45 p.m. Monday,
Sept. 9, at the synagogue. Members
will model and demonstrate the
latest hats, Israeli scarves, 14K gold
and costume jewelry and wigs. All

Chevra BBW to install officers
The Chevra Chapter of B’nai
B’rith Women, with 48 charter
members, will hold its chartering
and installation of officers at 7:30
p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the
home of Marianne Cook, 1101 Atche-
son Lane, Dunwoody.
The name Chevra was chosen
not only for its beautiful sound,
but because its translation from
the Hebrew to “society” can be
extended to imply friendship and
goodwill.
The chartering and installation
will be conducted by Roberta Si-
monelli and Beth Wender.
