Epstein School Hanuka dinner
Performing at the Epstein School Hanuka dinner are (from left,

The school's PTA sponsored the dinner, highlighted by singing,
candle-lighting and latkes, which 677 children, parents, grandparents
and staff attended.
B.B. Leo Frank Lodge
plans December events
The Leo Frank Lodge of B’nai
B’rith will sponsor basketball games
from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22,
and Sunday, Dec. 29 at the Briar-
wood Recreation Center, 2235 Briar-

Club 50 event to feature
discussion on finance
Club 50 will meet at 7:30 p.m.

Leonard B. Kushner, financial
consultant, will lead a discussion
on money matters relating to the
middle-aged and retired. Questions
from the floor will follow.
Cost is 75 cents for members and
$1.50 for non-members. Refreshments
will be served.

Young Judaea will hold
convention Dec. 24-27
From Dec. 24-27, Young Judaea's
Regional Convention for Bogrim
(ninth-12th grades) will be held at
Oak Mountain State Park in
Alabama. The convention will involve
students from Georgia, Alabama,
Tennessee, South Carolina and
Louisiana, and will center on the
theme of “freedom.”
A casino will raise money for
charity to be decided upon by the
convention body, and for a Young
Judaea region, Azor Lev HaDarom
(“Heart of the South”).

Nachal Lodge to help out
at Scottish Rite Dec. 25
Volunteers from Nachal Lodge
of B’nai B’rith, serving Cobb and
North Fulton counties, will help
the staff of Scottish Rite Children’s
Hospital on Christmas Day, so
that non-Jewish hospital staff can
be home with their families.
The project was started several
years ago by Gate City Lodge, and
this year Nachal will cooperate
with Gate City to expand the
program. This will be the first
major community service project
for Nachal Lodge.

Shearith Israel retreat
for youths is Jan. 10-12
Shearith Israel Youth Group will
hold its annual retreat from Friday,
Jan. 10-Sunday, Jan. 12, at the
Calvin Center in Hampton, Ga.
The theme will be “Judaism Held
Captive,” and will survey communi
ties in which Jews are not permitted
to practice their beliefs freely.
The program will begin with bus
pickup at Shearith Israel at 3:30
p.m. Friday. Participants will return
at noon Sunday. Cost is $35.00.

Mt. Scopus Hadassah
will raise dough Jan. 8
Mount Scopus Hadassah will
hold a bread-making class at 7
p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the
home of Judy Bernath, 2078 Valiant
Drive. Shirley Corriher, food
consultant, writer and member of
the board of directors of the Inter
national Association of Cooking
Schools, will instruct participants
in food processor and hand-kneading
methods, and will also make fruit
butter.
Cost is $3, and reservations can
be made by calling Pearl Brown,
634-5768. Coffee and dessert will
be served.
Feb. 1 is World Marriage Day Ball
Nominations are being taken for
Couple of the Year, in celebration
of World Marriage Day 1986, which
will take place in February. The
award for Couple of the Year will
be presented at the World Marriage
Day Ball on Feb. I. The program is
sponsored by Worldwide Marriage
Encounter Inc., according to Charley
and Ida-Marie Anton, co-chairs
for Worldwide Marriage Encounter,
Atlanta region.
The criteria for nomination of
the Couple of the Year are: How
does this couple contribute, as a
couple, to the community and how
is their dedication to each other
visible?
Nominations are to be called in
