Mark Popowski of Atlanta
has become a partner in the
accounting firm ofHirsch, Babush,
Neiman & Kornman. He has
been with the firm for five years
and was previously with Touche,
Ross, & Company.
Popowski is a member of the
Georgia Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the American
Institute of Certified Public
Accountants. He serves on the
board of directors of the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center, is
vice president of the Children of
Holocaust Survivors, and serves
on both the Zachor Committee
and the Population Study
Committee of the Atlanta Jewish
Federation.
He is a native Charleston,
S.C., and is a graduate of the
University of Georgia.
Rod A. David has been licensed
as a securities broker with Paine
Webber Incorporated in Overland
Park, Kans. Previously he was an
account executive with MCI
Communications.
David attended Lakeside High
School in Atlanta until he moved
to the Kansas City suburb in 1979.
His mother, Judy, and sister Donna
belong to Temple Sinai in Atlanta.

Jack Hirsch of Atlanta recently
attended the Fall 1985 National
Tax Division Meeting, sponsored
by the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (A.I.C.P.A.).
The four-day conference, held in
Scottsdale, Ariz., offered a series
of lectures and meetings with top
accounting practitioners and leading
government officials who discussed
current accounting issues such as
tax accounting, employee benefits,
small business taxation and estate
planning.
Hirsch is a founding partner of
Hirsch, Babush, Neiman & Kornman
of Atlanta. He is a member of the
Georgia Society of C.P.A.s. the
American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, the national board
of the Jewish National Fund of
A merica and its executive committee
and is secretary of JNF’s National
Leadership Conference.
Terri Kaplan Silverman of East
Brunswick, N.J., recently earned
the American Compensation
Association’s Certified Compensation
Professional designation.
The American Compensation
Association is a non-profit organiza
tion of professionals who provide
the leadership in designing, im
plementing, administering or
consulting on employee compensation
programs.
Ms. Silverman passed six compre
hensive examinations required for
certification. She is currently
employed by New Jersey Transit
Corporation in Newark, N.J., as a
senior wage and salary analyst.
Terri is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Sidney Kaplan of Atlanta.

Heleen Tibor of Atlanta, daughter
of Suzan and Hy Ingber, has recently
been promoted to national sales
training manager, M & M / Mars in
Hackettstown, N.J. She will be
responsible for the training and
development of over 450 field sales
associates.
Heleen is a graduate of the
University of Georgia with a degree
in management.
Jerome M. Cooper, FAIA, a
principle in the Atlanta architectural
firm of Cooper Carry & Associates,
has been named the 1985 recipient
of the Bernard B. Rothschild Award
by the Georgia Association, American
Institute of Architects.
The award, highest honor bestowed
by the association, recognizes “most
distinguished service to the profession
of architecture in the state of Georgia.
A graduate of Georgia Institute
of Technology, Cooper studied as
a Fulbright Fellow at the Universita'
di Roma, Rome, Italy, and in 1956
received the AIA Student Medal
for Excellence in Architecture. He
was recipient of a Distinguished
Service Award from the Atlanta
Chapter, AIA in 1972, a Leadership
Award from the Atlanta Chapter
in 1973, and was elected a Fellow
of the Institute in 1976. the highest
honor accorded a member.

Roy M. Cohen of Sharon, Mass.,
formerly of Atlanta, has been named
vice president and general mer
chandise manager of Child World,
a national retail toy chain based in
Avon, Mass.
Cohen and his wife, the former
Connie Weinstein of Atlanta, have
two children. He is the son of
Sylvia and Jack Cohen of Atlanta.

Carry & Associates, 25-year-old Atlanta-based architectural firm
was awarded the organization’s 1985 Construction Productivity
Award, the first architectural firm to be selected for the award.
