Gerald Wynne, 78, of Atlanta
died Monday, Jan. 27.
Graveside service was held
Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Hillcrest
Cemetery in Quincy, Fla.
A resident of the Jewish Home,
he was a charter member of Temple
Israel in Tallahassee, Fla. He was a
merchant in Quincy for 54 years
prior to his retirement. He was the
owner of Wynne Department Store.
Survivors include his daughter,
Susan Wynne of Miami; sons. Dr.
Larry Wynne of Miami Beach and
Merrill Wynne of Atlanta; brother,
Barney Wynne of Blakely, P'la.’
sisters, Mrs. Helen Pearlman and
Mrs. Lanell Mintz, both of South
Orange. N.J.; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Karan (Kayla) Silvers-
Pickens, 27, of Houston died Friday,
Jan. 24.
Graveside service was held
Monday, Jan. 27, at Arlington
Memorial Park, with Rabbi Alvin
Sugarman officiating.
Survivors include her husband,
Radie K. Pickens; son, Aaron
Silvers-Pickens of Houston; mother,
Iris Taffel Silvers of Houston;
brother, Garson B. Silvers of Beverly
Hills, Calif.; aunts and uncles. Jack
and Nancy Taffel and Harvey Taffel
of Atlanta, and John and Barbara
Tureen of Saint Louis.

Fishel Philip Lefkowitz, 86, of
Atlanta, formerly of Paterson, N.J.,
died Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Graveside service was held
Thursday, Jan. 23, at Greenwood
Cemetery, with Rabbi Marvin
Richardson and Cantor Isaac
Goodfriend officiating.
He was a retired textile weaver.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Freida Youskowitz. Lefkowitz;
daughter, Mrs. Helen Hersch of
Atlanta; son, William Lefkowitz of
Fresno, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Celia
Lerman of Atlanta; seven grand
children; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Reva Clein Mendelsohn of
Charleston, S.C., formerly of Atlanta,
died Friday, Jan. 24.
Graveside service was held Sunday,
Jan. 26, at Greenwood Cemetery,
with Rabbi Harry H. Epstein and
Cantor Isaac Goodfriend officiating.
Survivors include her husband,
Moses Mendelsohn; daughter, Mrs.
Elaine Shulman of Asheville, N.C.;
son, Robert Newman of Atlanta;
sisters, Mrs. Esther Silver and Mrs.
Celia Scheuer, both of Atlanta,
and Mrs. Janice Silverstein of
Charleston; brother, Sidney Clein
of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.

American Heart Association.
Mrs. Esther Knopf, 90, of Atlanta
died Thursday, Jan. 23.
A memorial service was held
Friday, Jan. 24, at the Jewish Home.
Interment took place at Mount
Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, N. Y.,
on Sunday, Jan. 26.
A resident of the Jewish Home,
she was the widow of the late
Joseph Knopf.
Survivors include her daughter,
Mrs. Sylvia Markfield of Long
Island, N.Y.; sons, Raphael Knopf
of Long Island and Dr. Irwin Jay
Knopf of Atlanta; and brother,
Harry Inselman of Miami.

Mass., formerly of New York, died
Wednesday, Jan. 15.
She was the sister of Mrs. Hilda
Harris Commins of Atlanta.
Funeral service was held Friday,
Jan. 17, at Temple B’nai Abraham
in Beverly, with interment in Sharon,
Mass.
She was previously first vice
president of Temple B'nai Abraham.
Library director of Beverly since
I977, she was responsible for
modernizing the system and flags
of the city of Beverly were flow n at
half-mast in her honor.
Other survivors include her
husband, Howard Calish; daughters,
Mrs. Constance Ann Ranehe of
Framingham, Mass., and Janice
Anna Huber of Belmont; son,
Leonard N. Huber of Buckland.
Mass.; another sister, Mrs. Leila
Klein of Stamford, Conn.; one
granddaughter; several nieces and
nephews.

(ARC) is soliciting proposals for the
provision of Kosher Meals and
Related Supportive Services in the
Metropolitan Atlanta Area These
services will be funded through Title
III of the Older Americans Act under
contract with the Atlanta Regional
Commission effective July 1, 1986
through June 30. 1987 The availa
ble funds will not exceed $82,072 00
The number of meals to be provided
in FY 87 includea minimum of 100
site-prepared congregate meals per
day, 88 to be served in an approved
senior center; and 12 to be served in
a licensed adult day care center
Current providers of services and
other interested parties are invited
to prepare proposals for the servi
ces described above and submit
five copies, including one original,
to ARC no later than 5:00 pm Fri
day, February 26, 1986 Competi
tive proposals will be reviewed and
evaluated by an advisory panel hasea
