BBW Regional Retreat slated for May 16-18 The Southeastern Region of B’nai B’rith Women will hold its Regional Retreat at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel, May 16-18. The theme of the retreat is “Take the ‘C’ Train—Choices, Challenges, Changes.” The keynote speaker will be Dr. Michael Mescon, dean, College of Business Administration, Georgia State University. Lynn Pearson and Linda Kaplan, two B’nai B’rith Women leadership trainers, will conduct workshops. Mrs. Pearson, a training coordinator at the First Wisconsin National Bank, is a mem ber of the BBW national executive board and chairman of the national leadership committee. Mrs. Kaplan is national organizational services director of BBW and serves as con sultant for leadership training and development. Bebe Emerman, consumer repor ter for Channel 2 television, will discuss consumer issues and how to communicate with the media and with congressmen to secure appropriate action for change. Leo Frank Lodge to hold monthly meeting May 7 1 he Leo M. Frank Lodge of B’nai B’rith will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Congregation Or Ve- Shalom. Alex Gross, a survivor of the Holocaust, will be guest speaker. At age 14, Gross was placed in a concentration camp and through out the war was moved through the camps of Buchenwald, Auschwitz and Birkenau. IAE spring classes begin May 13 at The Temple The Institute for Adult Enrich ment’s Spring ’86 session, co-spon- sored by the Atlanta Jewish Com munity Center and The Temple, will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 13-June 10 at The Temple. The IAE is a daytime con tinuing education series for men and women of all ages who want to “stay alive as long as they live.” The highlighted classes are “The Joys of Sex” and “Forgotten Her oines of the Bible.” The first class will cover impotence, sex and aging, sex and intimacy, sex and Judaism, and sex and the older woman. The Bible heroines include Miriam, Rebecca, Judith (the story of Hanuka), Esther, Ruth and Naomi. Other classes include fitness, conversational Hebrew, public speaking, weight control, self-es teem and the history of Israel through coins and stamps. Holocaust talk, response set May 12 at Ebenezer The Atlanta Bureau of Jewish Education will host a Holocaust education program in the Fellow ship Hall of Ebenezer Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Monday, May 12. The evening will include a pres entation by Holocaust survivor Alex Gross, the filmstrip “Camera of My Family” and a Christian response by Deacon Philip Finch Ebenezer Baptist Church. “At Ebenezer Baptist Church we feel a responsibility to fight for equality and justice for all people, explains the Rev. Sharon Austin, assistant pastor at Ebenezer. "Our Jewish brothers and sisters have experienced an oppression that we understand. The Holocaust was a massive act of inhumanity geno cide of a people. We at Ebenezer have a rich legacy and in looking toward our future we want to ad dress equality and justice for all people.” The community is invited to attend.
