Tracy Aronovitz marries Harry Lorowitz
Dr. and Mrs. Gerson H. Arono-
vitz of Atlanta announce the mar
riage of their daughter, Tracv
Robin, to Harry William Lorowitz
of Marietta, son of Mrs. Esther
Lorowitz of Brooklyn, N.Y. and
the late Hy Lorowitz. The cere
mony was performed Sunday. May
25. at Ahavath Achim Synagogue,
with Rabbi Arnold Goodman and
Cantor Isaac Goodfriend offici
ating.
The bride is the granddaughter
of Leah Yaffee of Syracuse, N.Y.,
and the late Louis Yaffee, and
Molly Aronovitz of Miami Beach.
Fla., and the late Benjamin Aro
novitz of Rochester, N.Y.
The bridegroom is the grandson
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Kramer and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Lorowitz, all of Brooklyn.
The bride’s sister, Caroline .Aro
novitz, served as maid of honor.
Betsy Aronovitz and Pam Arono
vitz of Atlanta, also sisters of the
bride, were bridesmaids. Amy
Lorowitz of New York City, sister
of the bridegroom, was matron of
honor.
Russell Lederman of Minneapo
lis, Minn, was the best man.
Groomsmen were Dr. Paul Ber
stein of Jericho, N.Y.; David Lewis
of Forest Hills, N.Y.; Steven
Schreiber of New York City,
brother-in-law of the bridegroom;
William Lorowitz of San Diego,
Calif., cousin of the bridegroom;
Steven Singer of Silver Spring,
Md.; Dr. Andrew Zeidman of Rego
Park, N.Y.; and David Sapp of
Marietta.
The bride, a Lakeside High
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lorowitz
School graduate, received her
bachelor of arts degree from the
University of Georgia magna cum
laude, and was elected to Phi Beta
Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. She
was a member of Delta Phi Epsilon
sorority and sweetheart for Alpha
Epsilon Pi fraternity. She recently
graduated from the University of
Georgia School of Law where she
was awarded the Adams Academic
Scholarship. Mrs Lorowitz is now
the assistant solicitor for Gwinnett
Ms. Raskin, Dr. Katz engaged
Mr and Mrs. Sidney L. Raskin
of Savannah announce the en
gagement of their daughter. Ms.
L.aurie Raskin of Cambridge,
Mass., to Dr. Peter S. Katz of
Cambridge, son of Dr. and Mrs.
Irwin Katz of Cincinnati.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Isaac Raskin and of Mrs. Sara
Greenberg.
The bridegroom is the grandson
of the late Mr. and Mrs. William
Katz and of the late Mrs. Reida
Lauder, all of Cincinnati.
A graduate of Savannah Coun
try Day School, Ms. Raskin re
ceived a bachelor of arts degree
from Washington University and a
master of arts degree from New
York University. She is an artist-
teacher in drama and dance in the
public schools in Weston, Mass.
Mr. Katz, a graduate of Walnut
Hills High School in Cincinnati,
received a bachelor of arts degree
from Boston University and a doc
tor of dental science degree from
Ohio State Dental School. He is in
private practice in Cambridge.
A garden wedding is planned for
Aug. 9 at the home of the bride-
elect’s parents.
Miss Holzberg, Mr. Mountv wed
Drs. Robert and Bette Holzberg
of Chicago, formerly of Spartan
burg, S.C., announce the marriage
of their daughter, Lauren Beth, to
Alan David Mounty, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Bernard Mounty of
Scarsdale, N.Y.
Rabbi Paul Steinberg, dean of
the Hebrew Union College, per
formed the ceremony on April 12
at the Fountainhead in New Ro
chelle, N. Y., where a reception and
dinner followed
The bride is the granddaughter
of Mrs. Gertrude Landsman of
North Miami Beach.
The bride earned a bachelor of
arts degree ana a masters uer.ree
Carolina. She is an assistant direc
tor of career planning and place
ment at the Lincoln Center campus
of Fordham University in New
York.
The bridegroom received a
bachelor of arts degree from Brad
ford College in Haverhill, Mass.,
and is an advertising account
supervisor with David Deutsch
Associates in New York.
Lisa Daitch of Augusta and Les
lie Holzberg of Columbia, S.C.,
sisters of the bride were matron
and maid ot honor respectively.
I he couple took a cruise to Mex
ico and will live in Westchester
Count’. N.Y.
County.
The bridegroom graduated from
the State University of New York
at Stony Brook with a degree in
economics. He was a four-year
member of the varsity baseball
team. He is Southeast regional
sales manager for Classic Frames-

cisco and the California coast, the
couple will live in Marietta.
Rakestraw-Byck
Ms. Peggy Lee Rakestraw of
Augusta and David Boley Byck of
Savannah were married May 11 at
1:30 p.m. in Old Medical College.
Rabbi Norman Goldburg officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Welch of Rockmart.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. David A. Byck III of
Savannah.
Escorted by her father, the bride
had Ms. Deborah Coleman as maid
of honor. Mrs. Hal Davenport was
her cousin’s matron of honor.
Best men were the bridegroom's
brother, Edwin R. Byck. and the
bridegroom’s father. Ushers were
John Rothbaum. David Levy and
Steven Newman, all of Atlanta;
Jeffrey Kole of Washington, D.C.,
Brien Strauss of Chapel Hill, N.C.,
and David Kahn.
Amanda Rakestraw oi Augusta,
daughter of the bride, was the
Power girl.
After a reception at Telfair Inn,
the couple left for a wedding trip to
Jamaica.
They will live in Birmingham,
Ala.
