York, will be the keynote speaker
at the UJA Southern Region
W omen’s Div ision Conterence on
Aug. l-3. Judy Byck of Savannah
is conference chairman.
The conference, to be held at the
Regency Hyatt in Savannah, will
begin Friday afternoon with a tour
of historic Jewish Savannah fol
lowed by Shabbat dinner and a
program by Dan Elazar. the
scholar-in-residence. Elazar. direc
tor of the Jerusalem Center for
Public Affairs, w ill make tw o addi
tional presentations during the
conference.
Workshop topics will include
Business and Professional Women,
Year Round Programming, Solici
tor Training for both experienced
and inexperienced campaigners. Big
Gifts, Outreach and Development,
and a special seminar for campaign
chairmen of small cities, presented
by Judith Levy, national chairman.
Other presenters are Lois
Blonder, regional chairman; Betty
Ann Jacobson. Pris Siskin, Debby
Miller, Theba Feldman. Rosanne
Zinn. Bobi Klotz, Sondra Sugar-
man. Charlotte Schuman and
Harriet Zimmerman, national
president of the Women's Divi
sion.
In addition, a regional Lion of
Judah luncheon will precede the
conference on Friday, Aug. I
Harriet Zimmerman will be the
speaker. Prerequisite for the lun
cheon is a $5,000 minimum com
mitment to the 1987 UJA Federa
tion community campaign.

to be AJC ’86 honoree
The Institute of Human Rela
tions of the American Jewish
Committee will present its 1986
Human Relations Award to John
W. McIntyre, president of the Citi
zens and Southern National Bank
and vice chairman of Citizens and
Southern Georgia Corporation, at
a dinner Wednesday, June 18, at
the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 6 p.m.
Edward E. Elson, president of
Elson’s, and chair of the American
Jew ish Committee's board of trus
tees, will serve as honorary chair
person of the event. Co-chairman
are Cecil A. Alexander of FA BRA P
and J. Erskine Love Jr. of Print-
pack Inc.

Among the distinguished partic
ipants are John Portman of John
S. Portman and Associates, who
will present the award, and Mav-
nard I. Wishner, honorary national
president of the American Jewish
Committee, who will deliver the
keynote address.
McIntyre is being honored in
recognition of his outstanding con
tributions to Atlanta’s cultural and
philanthropic activities. He is pres
ident of the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra League and vice chair
man of the Atlanta Arts Alliance.
He expresses his commitment to
education and young people by
serving as a trustee of Emory Uni
versity, Mercer University and the
Lovett School. He is an active
member of the Northside Drive
Baptist Church. He is a past presi
dent of United Way of Metropoli
tan Atlanta.
