Rubnitz-Weiner
Laurie Weiner and Jeffrey Wayne
Rubnitz were married June 7 in
B'nai B’rith Jacob Synagogue in
Savannah. Rabbi Avigdor Slatus
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Harriet Rosen and Aron G. Weiner.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Julius Rubnitz.
Given in marriage by her par
ents, the bride had Mrs. Tracy
Edgar as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jackie Rubnitz,
Eileen Rubnitz and Mrs. Joanne
Grabia, all of Atlanta, sisters of the
bridegroom; Janet Porter of Ponte
Vedre Beach, Fla., and Susan
Gordon.
The bridegroom’s father was best
man. Ushers were James Franklin
Owens, Mark Justin Thomason,
Leonard Roy Grabia, all of Atlanta;
Edward Adam Stern of Dallas;
Alan Mendel Weinerand Jay Philip
Weiner, brothers of the bride; and
Daniel Harold Klugman.
Joshua Grabia of Atlanta, neph
ew of the bridegroom, was ring-
bearer.
After a reception, the couple left
for a wedding trip to Jamaica.
Thev will live in Savannah.

demy. Miss Markowitz received a
bachelor of science degree in jour
nalism and home economics from
the University of Georgia. She is
employed by Robinson-Fredrich
Advertising Agency.
A graduate of Benedictine Mil
itary School, Mr. Bergmann re
ceived a bachelor of science degree
from West Georgia College. He is
employed by Acosta Sales of
Georgia.
The wedding is planned for Oct.
25 at Mickve Israel Temple.
Miss Orlin to wed Mr. Wadler

Hayes Wadler, son of Susan and

Miss Orlin is the granddaughter

Miss Miller is a freelance corpo

writer. Mr. Tamli, a veteran of the
Israeli army, is a precision ma
chinist.

Miss Orlin is presently employed
at the Atlanta law firm of Peek and
Whaley. Mr. Wadler lives in Char
lotte, N.C., and is working with
Total Accessories, Inc., an Atlan
ta-based firm.
After a Dec. 7 wedding, the cou
ple will live in Charlotte.
Goldman-Shapiro
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Goldman of
Macon announce the engagement
of their daughter, Staci Lyn, to
Maury Alan Shapiro, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Shapiro of At
lanta.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mrs. Louis Isaacson of
Atlanta and the late Sam J. Arno-
vitz, and the late Mr. and Mrs. lsa-
dor Goldman of Macon. She re
ceived a bachelor of science degree
in nursing from the University of
Maryland and is employed by
Emory Clinic.

grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Myer Shapiro of Wagener. S.C.,
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Evans of Sparta, Tenn. He received
a bachelor of business administra
tion degree from Georgia State
University and is employed by the
Equitable Financial Services of
Atlanta.

Dr. and Mrs. Joel Barry Mann
of Miami announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Amy, to
Kenneth Finkelstein, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Finkelstein of
Baxley, Ga.
Miss Mann is the maternal
granddaughter of Mrs. Charles
Cramer of Miami Beach and the
late Mr. Cramer. Paternal grand
parents are Dr. and Mrs. Harry
Aaron Mann of Hallandale, Fla.
Mr. Finkelstein is the maternal
grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.
lsadore Elkins of Alma, Ga. Pa
ternal grandparents are Nathan
Finkelstein of Savannah, and the
late Mrs. Finkelstein.
Miss Mann is a graduate of
Palmetto High School in Miami
and is now a senior at the Univer
sity of Georgia. A member of Delta
Phi Epsilon sorority, she is major
ing in children and family devel
opment.
Mr. Finkelstein, an honor grad
uate of Appling County Compre
hensive High School, received a
bachelor of science degree in chem
istry from the University of Geor
gia in 1985. This fall he will be
enrolled in the University of Health
and Science Medical School in
Kansas City, Mo.
A summer 1987 wedding is
planned.
Appel-Benjamin
Dr. and M rs. Philip Benjamin of
St. Petersburg, Fla., announce the
marriage of their daughter, Caren
Beth, to Laurence B. Appel, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Appel of
Atlanta. The ceremony was per
formed on Sunday, June 1, in St.
Petersburg.
The bride is the granddaughter
of Leon Haliczerand the late Lillie
Haliczer and the late Mae and
Joseph Benjamin, all of St. Peters
burg.
The bridegroom is the grandson
of Helen Feinberg of Atlanta and
the late Max Feinberg, and the late
Dr. Murray and Ruth Appel of
Hallendale, Fla.
The bride’s sister, Judy Benjamin,
served as maid of honor. Karen
Appel, sister of the bridegroom,
Caryn Cohen and Karen Kahn
were bridesmaids.
Donald Appel served as his son’s
best man. Groomsmen were Dr.
Mark Benjamin of Gainesville, Fla.,
Douglas Diamond, Thomas Eve
rett and Scott Moscow, all of At
lanta; Joseph Weinberg of Dallas,
Texas; Steven Saville of Baltimore,
Md.; and Michael Shapiro and
Michael Einsidler of New York
City.
The bride received her bachelor
of arts degree from the University
of Florida. She was a member of
Alphi Epsilon Phi sorority. She
has been employed as a sales man
ager at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel.
The bridegroom is a graduate of
the University of Virginia. He is
employed as senior researcher for
Cable News Network.
Altera honeymoon in Bermuda,
the couple will live in Philadelphia.
