Nat Tieman, vice president of
distribution for Ivan Allen
Company of Atlanta, has as
sumed responsibility for the
furniture and design depart
ments.
Tieman, a native of New York
City, holds a B.S. degree from
the University of Wisconsin and
an M.S. degree from the Uni
versity of Southern California.
He serves as president of the
Georgia Freight Bureau, was
president of the Atlanta Chap
ter of the National Council of
Physical Distribution Manage
ment and was an officer and
board member of Congregation
Shearith Israel.
Atlantan Jack R. Arogeti was
awarded the Harrison K. McCann
Worldwide Award for “Professional
Excellence,” in recognition of out
standing performance. The award
is presented to fewer than one per
cent of the McCann-Erickson’s
6,000 worldwide employees. He is
only the second recipient in the his
tory of McCann-Erickson’s Atlanta
Advertising Agency.
Stanley Sloan, Ph.D., ad
dressed the American Society
for Personnel Administration
(ASPA) during the ASPA an
nual conference last month at
the New Orleans Convention
Center.
A resident of Atlanta, Sloan
is a senior principal in the At
lanta office of the Hay Group
Inc. His topic was “You, the
CEO and Strategy.”
He also addressed the Capi
tal Area Personnel Association
(CAPA) on “Executive Com
pensation Trends and Issues” at
its June meeting in Jackson,
Miss.
Sloan is vice president of
membership and board member
of Congregation Shearith Israel;
public relations chairman and
board member, Jewish Voca
tional Service; and personnel
committee chairman and board
member, Atlanta Hillel-Federa-
tion.

Dr. Jaquelin S. Gotlieb, a
resident of Atlanta, has been
named medical director for
CIGNA Healthplan of Georgia
Inc.
Gotlieb, a pediatrician, prac
ticed medicine in Stone Moun
tain for more than nine years.
She shared her practice with her
husband, who specializes in
adolescent medicine/pediatrics,
and two other associates.
Dr. Gotlieb is a graduate of
Duke University, where she re
ceived her bachelor's degree in
zoology. She received her M.D.
degree from the Medical Col
lege of Virginia at Richmond,
and did her residency training
at the University of Colorado
Medical Center
She has three children, and is
a member of the Atlanta Zoo
logical Society, Girl Scouts of
the USA and Congregation Beth
Shalom.
Marc D. Goldberg of Atlanta
has been appointed vice president
of Human Resources for Contel
Business Systems.
Goldberg joins Contel from a 16-
year career with the General Elect
ric Company where he most recently
served as manager of Employee
Relations Operation for Integrated
Communication Services in At
lanta.
A native of Boston, Goldberg
holds degrees in sociology and law
from Boston University.

Ronald Balser, president of the
Management Compensation
Group, Southeast Incorporated, has
recently been elected president of
Management Compensation Group
Inc.
Balser, an Atlanta native, at
tended Grady High School and
graduated from the Wharton
School at the University of Penn
sylvania with a major in insurance.
He serves on the Wharton School
board of directors.
Balser is a member of Mensa
Ltd. and is an active board member
of the Wharton School of Finance,
Atlanta Boys Club, the endowment
fund committee of the Atlanta
Jewish Federation, and the Atlanta
Chamber Players.
