The scho larship may be used at any Georgia school for one year. Andrea served as the presi dent of three successful com panies, sponsored by Georgia Power and Bell South, through out her years of participation. A graduate of Walton High School, Andrea was the drama editor for the school literary magazine, a member of the Spanish Honor Society, spirit clubs, Arrive Alive and the newspaper staff. Andrea was also involved with BBYO. She served as chairwom an for several chapter commit tees as well as on the council. She received her Gold Star of Deborah and was awarded life membership into the organiza tion this past spring. A past confirmand of The Temple, Andrea taught first grade at the synogogue for two years. This fall Andrea will enter the University of Georgia where she plans to major in journal ism. She is the daughter of Stuart and Marcia Naterman of Marietta. Jody L. Peskin of Atlanta is interning with the International Business Council in Atlanta, as part of the Governor’s Intern Pro gram. The program provides one term of experience for college stu dents. Jody will research foreign investment opportunities for Georgia businesses. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Peskin of Atlanta. A graduate of the Westminster Schools, she received a bachelor of arts degree in foreign languages and communication media from the American University, Washing ton, D.C. She was assistant to the publisher of Acropolis Books Ltd. in Washington from 1981-83, and was director of foreign rights and distribution of Computer Science Press in Rockville, Md., from 1983-85. She attends Georgia State Uni versity College of Law. * * * Randi S. Freedman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Freedman of Dunwoody, was awarded the first Chris Dimmick Scholarship at the Baccalaureate Service of Dunwoody High School. Miss Freedman, an honor grad uate of Dunwoody High School, is a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club, received a National Merit Commendation, played varsity soccer for four years at Dunwoody, and has been an active member and officer in numerous organizations both at Dunwoody High and in the com munity. She plans to enter Cornell Uni versity School of Engineering in the fall. Randi is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Podolsky of Pittsburgh, Penn., Mrs. Aurelia Freedman of West Hartford, Conn., and Eugene Freedman of Provi dence, R.I. * * * (Left to right) Phillip, Rosalind and Arthur Haber of Atlanta went to Israel recently for the Jewish National Fund dedication of the Harry and Rose Haber Grove in the United Synagogue Forest at Safad. Brian Keane Strickman-Levi- tas received his doctor of medi cine degree from the Medical College of Georgia on June 7. The son of Dr. and Mrs. Theodore C. Levitas, Brian will spend the coming year at Bap tist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., completing a flexible internship. Judy Danenberg of Atlanta re ceived a master of creative arts in therapy degree from the graduate school of Hahnemann University, Philadelphia. While a student at Hahnemann, her work was dis played in “Hidden Talents,” an art show featuring the work of Hah nemann staff and students. In 1984 Ms. Danenberg graduated with a bachelor of science in art educa tion degree from Mercer Univer sity in Macon, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon, an honors fraternity for educators. She is a 1980 graduate of David Hills High School, Atlanta. * * * Ann Greene of Atlanta was placed on the Dean’s List for spring quarter at the University of Geor gia, where she recently completed her freshman year. She is a member Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. A counselor this summer at AJECOMCE day camp, she is the daughter of Lala and Jack Greene. * * * Mindy Silverboard of Atlanta, a student at the Hebrew Academy, recently participated in the Geor gia ceremony of Duke University’s sixth annual Talent Identification Program. The purpose of the pro gram is to recognize bright young students. Mindy is the daughter of Stanley and Helaine Silverboard. Grand parents are Lewis and Evelyn Sil verboard, and Nathan Berger, all of Atlanta. * * * Carolyn Michele Serwitz of Roswell earned a grade point aver age of 4.0 for the spring quarter at the University of Georgia. She was also placed on the Dean’s list. A rising senior majoring in psy chology, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Serwitz. Marcy Scher of Atlanta, a rising senior at Lakeside High School, was recently elected to both the National Honor Society and Who’s Who in America's High Schools. Marcy was also selected the outstanding French student at Lakeside for 1985-86 and re ceived the school’s French Award. She was an Honor Roll student last spring. Marcy is the daughter of Allan and Roberta Scher. Noal and Jayne Solomon of Wayne, N.J., formerly of Atlanta, announce the birth of a son, Adam Howard, on July 9. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Katz of Pittsburgh. Pat ernal grandparents are Judge and M rs. Bender Solomon of Albany. * * * Linda and Mark Epstein of Charleston, S.C., announce the birth of a son, Jason Cole, on June 16. Grandparents are Lora and Dean Coleman of Atlanta, and Barbara and Edwin Epstein of Charleston. Great-grandparents are Mrs. Harold J. Coleman of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Glass of Charleston. * * * Shelley and Steven Pincus of Atlanta announce the birth of a son, Joseph Benjamin, on June 3. Grandparents are Frieda and Aaron Lor of New Orleans, and Rae and Jules Pincus of Miami. Great-grandparents are Dvora Margaliot, Batya Frieda Lohr, Anna Pincus and Ralph Ogron. Joseph was given the Hebrew name Yosel Benyamin in honor of his maternal great-grandfather, Joseph Lohr of Jerusalem. 1 he bris was performed by Can tor Akiva Ostrovsky. has received a degree in journal ism from the University of Georgia. A graduate of the Lovett School, he will attend Emory Law School in the fall. While at UGA, David served as general manager of WVOG- FM radio during his senior year. He was a member of Leadership UGA and was chosen as student representative to the Peabody Awards held recently in New York. He produced a Democratic senatorial candi dates forum, broadcast live on Georgia Public Television last May. He is a member of Blue Key Honor Fraternity. David is the son of Donna and Nelson Adelman. Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Sevel of Fairfax, Va., announce the birth of a daughter, Shoshana Leigh, on June 24. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Morton C. Sevel of Latrobe, Pa., and Bradenton, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel S. Grant of Atlanta. Paternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Markley of Pittsburgh.
