On Friday evening. May 23, and Fri day evening. May 30, the adult b'nai mitzva classes at The Temple were given the privilege to partici pate in this never-to-be-forgotten religious experience. We wrote our personal interpre tations of prayers; we learned the “hows,” and “whys” of the services in which we participate each week; we translated familiar passages and and songs that we have recited and sung so much of our life, giving them new and special meanings. We became a “family,” breaking bread together, sharing our values, our Jewishness, our pride in our selves and each other, and our per sonal pledge to continue our quest for further knowledge of Hebrew, prayer and Judaism. That precious occasion of our b’nai mitzva at any age in one’s life enabled each of us to be a link in that special and unbreakable chain that binds the peoplehood of Israel Those participating with me in the classes taught by Roberta Louis and Tosia Schneider were Rose Baer, Phyllis Berlin, Comer Gay, Dottie Gladstein, Debra Goodman, Jill Krebs, Harriet Ruhr, Gert Lazar, Mildred Orloff, Charlotte Rafshoon, Harriet and Jerry Ross, Ben Shapiro, Carol Silverman and Miriam Sobelson. $13500 In Atlanta to attend their mothers’ b’nai mitzva were (from left) were Barbara Gladstein Bresler, Barbara Giniger and Cantor Barbara Gay Margolies, who participated in the service.
