Miss Falk, Mr.
Mr. and Mrs. Washington Falk
III and Mrs. Charlotte Falk, all of
Atlanta, announce the engagement
of their daughter, Jennifer, to Terry
Robert Weiss, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jonas B. Weiss of St. Louis, Mo.
Miss Falk is the granddaughter
of Mrs. Esther Friedman of Atlanta
and Mrs. Washington Falk Jr. of
Savannah.
A graduate of the Westminster
Schools, she received a bachelor of
arts degree cum laude in political
science from the University of
Pennsylvania, and a doctor of law
Weiss to wed
degree from Emory University
School of Law. She will be asso
ciated with Powell, Goldstein,
Frazer and Murphy in September.
Mr. Weiss received a bachelor of
arts degree with high honors in
economics from Emory College,
and a doctor of law degree from
Emory University School of Law.
He is associated with Phillips,
Hinchey and Reid.
An August 2 wedding at The
Temple is planned with a reception
at the Commerce Club.

Sharon Barton marries Stuart Kirsch
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Barton
of Atlanta announce the marriage
of their daughter, Sharon Andrea,
to Stuart Alan Kirsch, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Irving Kirsch of New
York City.
The ceremony took place on
April 13 at Callanwolde, with Rabbi
Judah Kogen of Congregation
Shearith Israel officiating. A re
ception and dinner followed.
The bride is the granddaughter
of Mrs. Esther Berkman of Atlanta
and the late Charles Berkman, and
Mrs. Mae Barton of Selma, Ala.,
and the late Sam Barton.
The bridegroom is the grandson
of the late Mr. and Mrs. George
Cooper, and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Kalman Kirschenbaum, all of New
York.
The bride was given in marriage
by her parents. Maid of honor was
Kim Stricklan of Atlanta. Brides
maids were Amy Fine, Denise Kap
lan, Melanie Aaron, Robyn Tho
mas and Sandy Miller. Margaret
Utsey of Alabama kept the bride’s
book. Flower girl was Abby Leader
of Westport, Conn., niece of the
bridegroom.
Best man was Bill Hirsch of
Atlanta. Groomsmen were Steven
Barton and Stuart Barton, broth
ers of the bride; Lenny Leader of
Westport, brother-in-law of the
bridegroom; Maury Margol; and
Dr. John Sykes of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Kirsch
Mrs. Kirsch received a bachelor
of science degree in education from
the University of Georgia, after
studying in England during her
senior year. She is an advertising
sales representative for GTE.
Mr. Kirsch received a bachelor
of arts degree magna cum laude in
economics/business from Lafayette
College. He received his law degree
from the American University. He
is district counsel for the American
Federation of Government Em
ployees, and is also associated with
the law firm of Dietrick, Evans and
Sholz.
After a honeymoon to the Baha
mas, the couple is living in Marietta.
Mr. Birnbaum wed in Augusta
Ms. Cohen,
Ms. V. Susanne Cohen and David
Bruce Birnbaum of Savannah were
married June 8 at Congregation
Children of Israel in Augusta.
Rabbi Chaim J. Wender officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Barry Goldman of Augus
ta. The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Birnbaum.
Given in marriage by her step
father, the bride had Mrs. Mari
anne Allen of Charlottesville, Va.,
as matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Karen Montini of Bel
vedere, S.C.; Mrs. Gina Clark of
Wilmington, Del.; Kay Cohen, sis
ter of the bride; Leah Goldman,
stepsister of the bride and Fay
Jefferson.
Denny Player of Gainesville, Fla.,
was best man. Ushers were Michael
Hastings of Baton Rouge, La.,
cousin of the bride; Dr. Stuart
Birnbaum of Sacramento, Calif.;
Ken Goldblatt of Brockton, Mass.;
Dr. Ronald Beebe of Lavonia, and
Dr. Fred Moorman of Dublin.
Erin Melcher was flower girl.
Ringbearer was Scott Thompson.
Following a reception at the
home of the bride’s parents, the
couple left for a wedding trip to
Jamaica. They will live in Augusta.

Miss Jaffe, Mr. Sacks engaged
Herbert Jaffe of Dayton, Ohio,
and Mrs. Bernard Miller of Charles
ton, S.C., announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Melissa, to
Albert Sacks of Atlanta, the son of
Chafin-Floersheim
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C. Floer-
sheim announce the marriage of
their daughter, Suzanne, to Charles
C. Chafin of Norcross.
The wedding took place June 24
in Jackson, Wyoming.
Alexander Sacks of Lake Grove,
N.Y., and Mrs. Vera Cahn of New
Orleans.
Miss Jaffe is a graduate of Ohio
State University and is a sales
representative for Xerox. Mr. Sacks
is a graduate of the State Univer
sity of New York and the Walter F.
George School of Law at Mercer
University. He is in private prac
tice in DeKalb County, and is an
associate DeKalb County judge.
The wedding will take place on
Sunday, Aug. 31, at Brith Sholom
Beth Israel Synagogue in Charles
ton.
