Many volunteers assisted this summer in repairing and repainting the house. Bernie Marcus of Home Depot donated four air conditioners to make the summer work bearable, and Stan and Sarah Sloan donated a new door and drapes. Board members joined staff in repainting window trim and hardwood, while Beni Nouriel, a professional painter, completed repairs to walls and ceilings and painted the interior walls. Hillel House gets face lift Draamxatwns Yeshiva High plans coffee for parents of new students Family Fun Day to be held at Zaban The Atlanta Jewish Community Center will hold its Family Fun Day at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Zaban Park. Atlanta Council BBYO to hold training institute Atlanta Council BBYO will hold its annual Leadership Training In stitute Sept. 19-21 at Camp Barney Medintz in Cleveland, Ga. Diane Levenberg B’nai Torah to hear Jewish publication editor Congregation B’nai Torah will present Diane Levenberg, associate editor of the Jewish Publication Society,at 8p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the synagogue. She will address the topic, “Are Jewish Writers really Jewish Writers?” and will give a poetry reading from her book, “Out of the Desert.” A re ception will follow. Ms. Levenberg has worked with Henry Roth, “Call It Sleep”; Harold Brodkey, “Women and Angels”: Ruth Seid, “Wasteland”; and Curt Leviant, “The Yemenite Girl.” In recent years she has reviewed almost 50 American Jewish books and has interviewed authors.
