Lisa Ascher to wed Alan Sawyer The Ascher family of North brook, Ill. announces the engage ment of Lisa Karen Ascher to Alan Jay Sawyer of Atlanta, son of Mrs. Estelle Sawyer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the late George M. Sawyer. The bride-elect received her bachelor of arts degree in journal ism from the University of Wis consin. She is a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and is a sales representative for Atlanta Magazine. The future bridegroom received his ABJ degree in journalism from the University of Georgia. He is a vice president of the Leo M. Frank B’nai B’rith Lodge and Alpha Epsi lon Pi Fraternity. He is an account executive for WXIA-TV in Atlanta. A fall wedding is planned at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kahn Miss Bermann, Mr. Kahn marry Fredricka H. Bermann and Philip R. Kahn were married July 6 at Shearith Israel Synagogue. Rabbi Judah Kogen officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manfred Bermann of Atlanta. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kahn and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Myer Rubin, all of Atlanta. Matron of honor was Paige Edmonds and bridesmaids were Carol Price, Leslye Samet, Lynn Tomlinson and Teresa Edenfield. Best man was Ralph Kahn, father of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Michael Kahn, Richard Kahn and Brian Kahn, brothers of the bridegroom; and Julian Bermann, brother of the bride. The bride is employed by the accounting firm of Deloitte, Has kins and Sells. The bridegroom is employed by Grant Thorton. After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple lives in Roswell. Ottoson-Miller Debra Lori Miller and U.S. Air Force Capt. Mark Richard Ottoson were married Sept. 6 at The Tem ple. Rabbi Alvin Sugarman offici ated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Miller of Atlanta. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ottoson of Red Wing, Minn. Given in marriage by her par ents, the bride had her sister, Michele Miller, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were sisters-in-law Kathy Miller, Debra Ottoson La- Plant, and Stacy Ottoson. Air Force Capt. Alan Sherman was best man. Ushers were Dr. Jay Miller, brother of the bride; Capt. Timothy Talbot, and Randall Jul ian Joey LaPlant, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. Mrs. Karen James kept the bride’s book. After a reception at Colony Square Hotel, the couple left on a Caribbean cruise. They will live in Columbus, Miss. Stein-Wertheimer Mr. and Mrs. Saul D. Stein of Atlanta announce the engagement of their daughter, Carla Jo, to Howard Seth Wertheimer of Jeri cho, Long Island, N.Y. Miss Stein is the granddaughter of Mrs. Fannie Vitner of Atlanta, and the late Sigmund Vitner, and Mrs. Sarah Stein of Indianapolis, and the late Max Stein. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Milefsky of the Bronx, N. Y., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Moe Wertheimer of North Miami Beach. Miss Stein attended the Univer sity of Tennessee, majoring in hor ticulture and landscape design. She graduated with honors from the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor of landscape architecture degree from the School of Environmental Design. She is associated with Reece Hoopes and Fincher, land planners and land scape architects. Mr. Wertheimer received an as sociate degree in architectural tech nology from State University of New York College at Alfred. He graduated with honors from the College of Architecture, Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received bachelor of science and master of architecture degrees. While attending Georgia Tech, he participated in study-abroad pro grams in London and Paris. He is associated with Lord and Sargent Architects of Atlanta. An April 4, 1987 wedding is planned in Atlanta at Ahavath Achim Synagogue.
