The Bar Mitzva of Mark Louis Mintz of Atlanta will take place
at 8:30 a.m. on Shabbat Shuvah, Oct. 11, at Congregation B’nai
Torah. A congregation kiddush will follow.
Mark is the son of Rabbi Juda and Gloria Mintz. He is the
grandson of Rosa and Edward Dashefsky of Swampscott, Mass.,
and the late Rabbi Moshe and Brocha Mintz of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mark will share his Bar Mitzva with Lev Vigdarov of Moscow,
USSR.
Peter S. Trager, D.D.S., of
Marietta, has been named an hon
orable fellow of the Georgia Den
tal Association for his contribu
tions to denistry. He has also been
elected vice president of the North
western District Dental Society,
representing 22 counties in north
west Georgia.
Moshe Nativ, who retired from
the Israel Defense Forces with the
rank of major general, has suc
ceeded Ambassador Avraham
Avidar as executive vice president
of the Jewish Agency and Treasury
representative of the World Zion
ist Organization.
The Bat Mitzva of Robyn
Lynn Merrill of Atlanta will
take place at 10:30 a.m. Satur
day, Oct. 11, at The Temple. A
congregational kiddush will
follow.
Robyn is the daughter of
Barry and Bunnie Merrill. She
is the granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Merrill of Brook
lyn, N.Y., and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Froehlich of Brook
lyn.
Rhonda and Bill Langley of
Chicago, announce the birth of a
son, Adam Scott, on July 19.
Grandparents are Shirley and
Stanley Tenebaum of Atlanta, and
Clara Langley of Coral Gables,
Fla. and the late William Langley.
Adam was given the Hebrew
name Odom Shmuel after his mat
ernal great-grandmother, Annie
Silberstein.

Marc C. Alembik is attending
Georgetown University School of
Medicine. He holds a bachelor of
science degree and master of science
degree in chemistry from George
Washington University in Washing
ton, D.C.
His brother, Gary M. Alembik is
attending Mercer University School
of Law. Gary holds a bachelor of
arts degree in political science from
George Washington University.
They are the sons of Aaron I.
and Judith M. Alembik of Atlanta.

Lawn, N.J., vice president of the
New York-based PEF Israel En
dowment Funds, has been elected
president of the JWB Jewish Book
Council.
The council promotes Jewish
literary creativity and an apprecia
tion of Jewish literature and con
fers the annual National Jewish
Book Awards, sponsors J ewish Book
Month, publishes the tri-lingual
Jewish Book Annual and t he quar
terly Jewish World, syndicates
“Jewish Books in Review,” con
ducts conferences on Jewish books,
and serves as a clearing house for
information on Jewish books.
