AJCC getting on the right track for GALA IV at Freight Depot “ALL ABOARD” for GALA IV—the Atlanta Jewish Commun ity Center’s fourth GALA which will be held at the Old Georgia Railroad Freight Depot on Satur day, Nov. 15. ALL ABOARD for a ride on the new Georgia Railroad headed by old Engine No. 750. GALA IV, a celebration and fund-raiser for the AJCC takes it’s theme from one of Atlanta’s most popular new party attractions. A recent Ron Hudspeth article has the AJCC on the right track for a grand party. “Riding the grand old train—most of the cars are from the ’20s and ’30s—is as close as most of us will get to an Orient Express experience...It is a turn- of-the-century experience in keep ing with our town’s rich tradition. It is only appropriate that ‘AH abooard!’ for the train is belted out by the conductor only a few feet from the Zero Mile Marker, the exact center of our town...Af ter the 18-mile trip through our town no one wanted to get off.” There will be a light supper on the train complete with entertain ment, wine, club cars, music and more. The train departs from the depot at 7:15 p.m. and returns to the depot to join the GALA cele bration at 9 p.m. for lavish des serts, Paul Mande’s orchestra, dancing and delights down by the station. An original GALA production, “ALL ABOARD,” directed by Scott Rousseau will be presented at 10:15 p.m. For train ride and GALA infor mation, call Chana or Kathleen at 875-7881.
