Mr. and Mrs. Scott Austin
Alisa Maslia and Scott Austin marry
Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Maslia
of Atlanta announce the marriage
of their daughter, Alisa Esther, to
Scott David Austin, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Austin of Wil
mington, Del. The ceremony and
reception took place at the Or
VeShalom Synagogue on Aug. 24.
Sheryl Rechtman was her sis
ter’s matron of honor. liana Mas
lia was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Patti Berk, Amy
Maslia, Jennifer Rickies and
Michelle Malis. Jami Rose Recht
man was the flower girl.
Jeffrey Austin was his brother’s
best man. Groomsmen were Ben
Berk, Stephen Klein. Morris Mas
lia and Michael Rechtman. Ushers
were Robert Lavet, Robert Budoff
and Michael Gordon.
The bride graduated from the
American University and received
her law degree from the University
of Georgia. She is employed by
Seylarth, Shaw, Fairweather and
Geraldson in Washington, D.C.
The bridegroom is a graduate
from the University of Delaware
and received his law degree from
Georgetown University Law Cen
ter. He is employed by the United
States Department of Justice in
Washington.
The couple resides in Falls
Church, Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Maury Shapiro
Staci Goldman, Maury Shapiro wed
Staci Lyn Goldman and Maury
Alan Shapiro were married Aug.
31 at Sherah Israel Synagogue in
Macon. Rabbi Dov Edelstein offi
ciated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Alan Goldman of Macon
and the granddaughter of Mrs.
Louis Isaacson of Atlanta and the
late Sam Arnovitz and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Isidor Goldman of Macon.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Shapiro of
Atlanta, and the grandson of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Myer Shapiro of
Wagener, S.C., and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Morris Evans of Sparta,
Tenn.
Maid of honor was Amy Sue
Frank of Atlanta, cousin of the
bride. Bridesmaids were Robyn
Cohen, Amy Egerman, and Diane
Esstman, all of Atlanta, Julie
Bernstein of Baltimore and Cindy
Andrews of Auburn, Ala.
Best man was Ross Shapiro,
brother of the bridegroom. Grooms
men were Brian Goldman and
Ronnie Goldman, brothers of the
bride; Jeff Balser, Hal Cohen,
Jerrery Foreman, all of Augusta,
and Howard Robinowich of At
lanta.
After a Caribbean cruise, the
couple will live in Atlanta.
Melissa Jaffe marries Albert Sacks
Klein-Leaf
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Klein of
Dunwoody announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Andrea
Ronni, to Steven Alan Leaf, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Leaf of At
lanta.
M iss Klein is a graduate of the
University of Delaware. She at
tended Tufts University and is now
attending Georgia State for a mas
ter’s degree in education. She is a
teacher in the Fulton County
School System.
Mr. Leaf attended the Univer
sity of Georgia and graduated from
Georgia State with a degree in art.
He is the manager of Book Nook in
Atlanta.
A June 1987 wedding is planned.
Melissa Ann Jaffe and Albert
Sacks, both of Atlanta, were mar
ried Aug. 31 at Brith Sholom Beth
Israel Synagogue in Charleston,
S.C. Rabbi David Radinsky offici
ated.
The bride is the daughter of
Herbert Jaffe of Dayton, Ohio,
and Mrs. Bernard Miller of
Charleston. The bridegroom is the
son of Alexander Sacks of Lake
Grove, N.Y. and Mrs. Vera Cahn
of New Orleans.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride had her sister, Mrs. Steven
Lazarus of Moultrie, Ga., as matron
of honor. Bridesmaids were Jane
Karesh of New York, cousin of the
bride; and Michelle Arias of Seat
tle, Wash., niece of the bride
groom
of Cambridge, Mass., brother of
the bride; and Ron Jayson of
Atlanta.
Alison Lazarus of M oultrie, niece
of the bride, was flower girl.
The bride is a graduate of Ohio
State University, and is a sales
representative for Xerox. The
bridegroom is a graduate of the
State University of New York and
the Walter F. George School of
Law at Mercer University. He has
a private law practice in Decatur
and is an associate DeKalb County
judge.
A reception and dinner were held
in Solomon Hall following the
ceremony. After a honeymoon trip
in Hawaii, the couple live in
Decatur.
