Kehillat Chaim Sisterhood plans auction
Kehillat C haim Congregation sisterhood member Rosalyn Bush displays the poster describing

The auction is sponsored by Art America and will feature works by celebrated international

The Temple
Youth Library
The Temple Youth Library is
being dedicated in honor of
Carolyn W. and J. Kurt Holland
by their children and grandchild
ren at Family Shabbat Services
Friday. Nov. 14, beginning at
7:30 p.m.
Through the generosity of the
Holland family, the collection of
books grew from 300 to 1,000 in
a few months. In addition, the
room is fully decorated, equipped
and staffed for use by the chil
dren and parents of The Temple.
Sisterhood
The Temple Sisterhood and
Adult Education Committee are
co-sponsoring a program at 10
a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the
Martin Luther King Jr. Center
for Non-Violent Social Change.
U.S. Rep.-elect John Lewis
will speak on the topic, “Are
Jews and Blacks Continuing the
Dream?” Elaine Alexander is the
moderator.
The program will begin with
Lewis’ address, followed by a
tour of the King Center.
Rides will be provided from
I he Temple if needed.

New members dinner
The Temple will hold a new
members Shabbat dinner at 6:45
p.m. Friday, Nov. 21. All mem
bers who joined the congregation
since January 1986 are invited to
join board members and the pro-
lessional staff for dinner and a
discussion of Temple activities.
Mrs. Bruria Barish, founder ol
Heart to Heart, an Israeli camp
for Arab and Jewish children,
will speak at services. An Oneg
Shabbat in honor of all new
members will follow.
Cost of the dinner is $9 lor
adults and $6.50 for children To

Kehillat Chaim
Sisterhood
Kehillat Chaim Sisterhood is
sponsoring a “Little Jewish Book
Fair" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun
day, Nov. 16 at Sutton Middle
School.
Jewish books for adults and
children will be available for
viewing. Orders taken that day
will arrive in time for Hanuka.

Hanuka Bazaar
The sisterhood of Congrega
tion Beth Shalom will hold its
annual Hanuka Bazaar from 10
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov.
16, at the Atlanta Jewish Com
munity Center, Zaban branch.
There will be a variety of gift-
ware items, Judaica, etc., for
sale. There will also be a special
table of gifts for sale at a cost of
under $5 for children to buy for
family and friends. These pur
chases will be gift wrapped at no
charge.
The Bazaar is free and open to
the community. For more infor

Beth Jacob
Sisterhood
The Beth Jacob Sisterhood
will hold its annual Silver Tea at
1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the
synagogue.
Soprano Jan Cohen will per
form a classical potpourri rang
ing from Yiddish and Hebrew art
songs to contemporary classical
and popular music. Sandi Stone
will accompany her on the piano.
Mrs. Cohen, who holds a bach
elor of fine arts degree in voice
from Tulane University, earned a
master’s in music degree in voice
for Florida State University where
she studied with Elena Nikolaidi.
This year’s tea will honor new
sisterhood members, who are in
vited to attend a champagne re
ception at 1 p.m.
Money raised at the tea will go
to Stern College of Yeshiva Uni
versity and Touro College.
Rachel Sosne of Yeshiva High
School will give the D’var Torah.
