of a daughter, Mallory Wynne,
on Oct. 15.
Grandparents are Idlene and
Norman Slaff of Jacksonville,
Fla., and Shirlee Charatz. of

are Frieda Goldstein and Jennie
Charatz, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mallory Wynne will be given
the Hebrew name Mychal Zaha-
vah, in memory of her paternal
grandfather, Milton Charatz, and
her maternal uncle, Walter Slaff.

Rabbi Steven J. Lebow was
honored last month by the Amer
ican Red Magen David for Israel
(ARMD1), which helps supply
ambulances, blood services and
emergency medical care for Israel.
The rabbi, spiritual leader of
lemple Kol Emeth, received the
President’s Award for leadership
in the national fundraising cam
paign of the Red Magen David.

president of B’nai B’rith Women,
was recently presented with the
Anti-Delamation League’s Wom
an of Achievement Award in
New York.
The president of the 120,000-
member Jewish women’s organiza
tion was honored by the Women’s
Division of the ADL at its annual
Women of Achievement luncheon.
Also honored by ADL were
actress Dorothy Loudon and
Fleur Netanyahu, wife of Ben
jamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Am
bassador to the United Nations.

and Sandy Simon. She is the

Leonard Paul, and Marion Simon

with Olga Jaffe of the U.S.S.R.
Anne and Harry Friedman of
Atlanta recently celebrated their
57th wedding anniversary.
The Friedman’s, orginally of
New York, first came to Atlanta
in 1967 as the Georgia state di
rectors of Weight Watchers Inter
national.
They are the parents of Joan
Pressman and Sheila Butler, both
of Atlanta, and Dorothy Kon-
cius of New Jersey. The Fried
mans have nine grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
They are planning a trip to
Phoenix, Ariz., as part of their
anniversary celebration.
The Bar Mitzva of Michael
Seth Funk of Columbus took
place Saturday, Nov. 8, at Shea-
rith Israel Synagogue in Colum
bus. A luncheon followed.
Michael is the son of Barbara
and Mark Funk. He is the grand
son of Eliseand Rueven Wollner
of Atlanta, and the late Samuel
and Ann Funk of Miami.

frey Pollock of Atlanta will take

Mark is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley H. Pollock. He is

B.en Bolgla of Augusta, and the
late Gloria A. and Max J. Pollock

Atlantan Louis S. Belinfante,
DDS, was elected president-elect
of the American Association of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
(AAOMS) during the associa
tion’s 68th annual meeting held
recently in New Orleans.
Prior to his election, Belinfante
served seven years on the associ
ation’s board of trustees and one
year as vice president.
Belinfante is a staff member of
the section on oral and maxillo
facial surgery at Smyrna Hospi
tal and is in private practice in
Atlanta. He is a diplomate of the
American Board of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)
and a fellow of the International
Association of Oral and Maxil
lofacial Surgeons and the Amer
ican Dental Society of Anesthesio
logy-
A native of Revere, Mass., he
is a graduate of the University of
Pennsylvania School of Dentis
try. He completed his residency
in oral and maxillofacial surgery
at the Boston University Gradu
ate School of Dentistry and Mount
Sinai Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio.
