Winter Vacation Program For Children
Parents who are facing the long winter vacation
period can look forward to a full week of activity for
their children...a week of fun and excitement.
AJECOMCE Winter Days, Dec. 22 through Dec.
26, will take place at the Zaban Branch Building from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, with provisions for pre-camp
and after-camp care for those parents who prefer an
extended daily time period for their children.
Monday, Dec. 22:
Opening ceremonies...pony/horseback riding...
video... Maccabiad...bingo... Make your own video.
Tuesday, Dec. 23:
Enjoy “outerspace”...wildlife...and dinosaurs at
Fernbank... swimming.
Wednesday, Dec. 24:
It’s “Hands-on” at the High Museum...sensations
...swimming.
Thursday, Dec. 25:
Israeli Day...Make your own Hanuka menorah
...participate in the second International Painting
Competition of Jerusalem...video.
Friday, Dec. 26:
Join the marionettes in “Circus Berserkis”...visit
the brand new Carter Center...Hanuka party...see
slides and picture show.
AJECOMCE Winter Days

Place: AJCC Zaban Building.
C ost: $25 per day, $105 for the entire week.
Pre-Camp C are: $ I per day (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.)
Alter-C amp Care: $1.50 per day (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.)

AJCC Festival of Camping
All C amp Registration Day
On Sunday. Jan. 1 I, the AJCC will host the second
annual Festival of Camping, All Camp Registration
Day at Zaban Park from 1-3 p.m. The directors of
Camp K’ton, AJECOMCE, Barney Medint/, Tennis
Camp and Midtown Experience in the Arts will all be
on hand to answer any and all questions about AJCC
summer camping programs.
If yourchildren havealready registered forthe 1987
camping season, they can come and bring their
friends, and enjoy the slides, refreshments and fun.

of Jerusalem, School of Social Work.

News from the Atlanta Jewish Community Center, Inc.
Israeli Dancing and Singing: *Every Tuesday.
Israeli Dancing at Zaban at 7:30 p.m. The dancing is
conducted by Mrs. Vivian Greene.
Vivian is a folk dance specialist who has taught
and performed Israeli dance for many years in Atlanta
and throughout the Southeast. She obtained formal
training in Israel under the supervision of the Folklore
Research Center of the Hebrew University in Jerusa
lem as well as at the annual Fred Berk Israeli Folk
Dance Seminars. The dance class started on Nov. 4
and participants with all levels of experience are wel
come to attend the classes.
*On Monday. Dec. 15 and every second week, we
meet for an Israeli Sing-Along at the Peachtree Build
ing of the AJCC. If you love to sing Israeli songs, come
and enjoy yourself. You don’t have to know Hebrew
or be a professional singer. The leader is Ms. Ronit
Singer who plays the piano and the accordion.

Parent Medical Alert
Scottish Rite Hospital is making a fantastic pro
gram available; a guideline of how to handle children’s
illnesses, injuries and emergencies. Some of the topics
to be discussed are choking, fever, insect bites, burns,
animal bites, head injury, dental trauma and more.
This workshop will be presented by a panel of
doctors on Thursday. Jan. 15, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
at the hospital auditorium, 1001 Johnson Ferry Road.
The public is invited to attend this program, but
reservations are required by Jan. 7. Call Joyce at the

front desk.
