Graduates of the college have gone on to become leaders of the maritime industry and now, with this museum, have an opportun ity to contribute to the future success of the industry.” State University of New York Maritime College was founded in 1874 as Nautical School and is the oldest maritime school in the nation. The Maritime Museum at Fort Schuyler was created to serve as an educational tool, allowing the college to teach both cadets and the public about the maritime industry and its impact. The museum features ex hibits which show how the var ious segments of the industry developed and how the maritime industry has contributed to the wealth and strength of nations through international commerce. The exhibits show an integrated picture of the maritime industry and how it works, with themes ranging from the evolution of seafaring to the great 20th cen tury liners. The history of SUN Y Maritime College and its con tinued role in the maritime in dustry are also featured. The museum will also sponsor lec tures, movie programs and other activities. The election was held in Memphis at the hotel system’s annual worldwide con ference of franchise owners and parent company officials. Adilman is president of Adil- man Management and Investment development company which ow n and operates Holiday Inn hotel in Georgia and Alabama. He received a bachelor of bu> iness administration degree i accounting and holds a law degre from the University of Georgit He is a member of the State Ba Associations of Georgia an Florida. Zim-American Israeli Shipping Company Inc., one of the largest steamship companies in the w orld, recently donated a company flag to the new Maritime Museum at Fort Schuyler. 1 he Maritime Museum is housed in the historic tort on the grounds of State Uni versity of New York Maritime College in the Bronx. N.Y. Zim donated a flag displaying the logo of Zim Container Service, which flies over ten container- ships connecting North America with the Mediterranean, Carib bean and the Far East.
