25 Years of Memories
The summer of 1987 will mark the 25th anniver
sary of Camp Barney Medintz. During these years,
CBM has become an institution not only in Atlanta
but in the entire southeast, touching the lives of many
thousands of campers, staff, committee members and
parents.
To some. Camp Barney was a nice place to be,
enjoying the activities and having fun; to most. Camp
Barney was their very own summer place where they
made new friends, enjoyed old friends, learned new
skills, learned independence, laughed, cried, fell down,
jumped up, learned about horses, learned about peo
ple and most of all...learned about themselves!
Former campers display a deep sense of loyalty
and affection for CBM, and because camp is such an
important event in the life of a child, it is easy to
understand this feeling. However, even though work
ing at camp is an exhausting and demanding job,
former staff members will reflect the same loyalty and
affection for Camp Barney.
In order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of
Camp Barney, and to insure that future generations of
children will have the opportunity to experience the
same joys at Camp Barney as their older brothers,
sisters and even parents, a Camp Barney Medintz
Alumni Association is being formed.
For further information concerning the Alumni
Association, watch this paper and the Center Line for
announcements; in the meantime, if Camp Barney has
had any impact at all on you or your family, you will
want to join the association. Through your affiliation,
you will continue to be a part of the Camp Barney
tamily, and Camp Barney Medintz will continue to be
“...your summer place.”

Kessler is an experienced babysitter and has been with
the Center for 12 years.

We Need a Truck
As the Center continues to grow with, presently,
four in-town locations, (Peachtree, Zaban. Satellite
School, Weinstein Center) plus Camp Barney Medintz,
we find that we have an increasing need for truck
rentals. A donation of a truck (pick-up, panel or stake
truck) in good running condition would free up funds
now being used for truck rentals for other programs
and scholarships.
If you have a truck to donate, please call Mike
Lainoff at 875-7881.
