Convention.— I This body was organized on Satur- ( day last at Fairburfi with twelve schools represented by delegates. The introductory sermon was preach ed by Elder J. J. Strickland, Elder G. W. Colquitt was elected Presi dent, P.M. Tidwell, Secretary and J. M. Mason Assistant Secretary. The usual constitution was adopted and the time pleasantly and profitably spent in discussion, of Sunday school topics and listeing to sermons. The pastors and parents were j blamed a great deal by the speakers for not using greater influence in organizing ajid sustaining schools, and where no schools exist these parties are held to be blamed. Missions had a liberal share of dis cussion and no doubt good fruits will follow. G. W Colquitt and Secretary Gib son were present ami preached ser mons able and timely. The former was once pastor of ! Faribuni church and his old flock always hear him gladly. Dr. Gib son was on his first visit and made a very fine impression and won golden opinions from all. He preached on the Kingdom of God. explained the objects and .workings of his board and took collections from The Sun beams, the Sunday school and the church separately. Owing to the rain the audience was not so large as was expected. The pastor, W. 11. Strickland preached Saturday night on the origin and growth of the Sunday school idea. 'Die Convention will meet next year at Fairburn, at the call of the Executive Committee. We’ve lately had President Nun nally and Secretary Gibson with us at I’airburn ami have been coni plely captured by them. God speed them both and their great work. He claims that, lie is satisfied that Mr. Zeizler’s services are saving him from two to three hundred dollars on the thousand, and Mr. Zeigler claims that no extra charges will come up under his plans. He furnishes his clients with an itemized estimate of the cost of the work in order to pro tect them against unreasonable charges. W e understand also that some of the contractors say that his plans are prepared so thoroughly that there are no chances for extra charges on the work. A linn Legacy. Hi den, D. ])., begins a series of six ar ticles on “Great Themes in Simple Satement,” and Henry G. Weston, D.
