The Studenls of this institution will therefore be required to labor on the farm, at least three hours each day, except Saturday | lal fl and the Sabbath. The labor is intended to defray a portion of the expenses of boar ding, and ultimately, it is hoped, tho whole of tins, at least. Provision will bo made for such young men as wish to defray the whole exoense of their education by their labor, nr i> larger portion of it ll.nn the usual scholars of the institution ; ami it is hoped thal in n short time a young man will be enabled here, bv industry, to rise above the frowns of that poverty which new prevents him from securing the advantages of a good education. Tho grand object, however, which the friends of tlic school have in view.is to secure health nnd morals; and these are advantages equally de sirable to the rich and the poor. Many of our young men now leave nur se minaries of learning, so enfeebled in body, that ihev are unfit for the active duties of life. It is confidently believed, that in un institution of ibis kind, a voung man may labor 3 nr 4 hours each Hay, and yet pursue his studies to better advantage, than if no labor bad been performed. Vs the institution lias been raised bv the friends of the Georgia I’resln torian Education Society, it is intended to ex end il« advantages to the Henefi.daiies of that sorie- iv. All pious young men, therefore, who hove ihe Gospel ministry in view in ihm denomina tin',. and who have been thought worthy of the patronage of tho Education Society, will enjoy tho beoefii. of the institution. Vnv who desire to prepare for 'he preuriimg of the Gos pel, nnd havo not iho means, are invited lo present themselves through the society. In llic school. IfuI not wishing to ronfino the ad vantages of the insiilulion to any class, Iho school will be open to all others of good mor al character, of sufficient ago nnd strength to perform valuable labor upon tho farm ; and it is ihe intention of the Directors to reduce the expenses of |jll ns low ns possible. They linvo ibereforo determined, that for the first veur, all who board in the institution, excop' Hone- ftriarios, shall pay lor board, lire and washing, only 36 dollars, besides their labor.
