T HE'new and splendid Cotton Machinery jn this
now Factory, is now in operation, and the com
pany can supply orders at short notice, with cotton
yarn from No. 5 to 18.
We are now carding wool for customers. In ad.
dition to the carding uf Wool into rolls, we have
put up a 48 Inch double Carding Engine with Tube
condensers, (nothing like it in Georgia) also, 150
wool spindles.
We shall, by this late improvement, be prepared to
put wool into yarn, for customers, (if wanted.)

RAIL ROAD CONVEYANCE-
O N Monday the 16th inst. PASSENGERS and
FREIGHT will be conveyed on the Rail Road
between Charleston and Aiken.
Aiken is 120 mifea from Charleston, about 20 miles
from Edgefield C. II. and 16 from Augukta, Geo.
and .within half a mile from the Inclined Plane, and
the samo distance from the celebrated Cokes Spring.
Passengers will be carried all the wav to Hamburg,
S. C. on the Rail Road, except porterage of about
one mile at the Inclined Plane.

I F not previously sold at private safe I will offer at
auction on the first Tuesday in November, at tho
Court House in tho town of Washington, Wilkes
county, the large three story Stone Building, erected
for and formerly used os a Cotton Factory, situated
on Upton’s creek, about eight miles from Washing,
ton, near the old road to Augusta—together with
the tract of land of 850 acres on which it stands.—
The water power is believed to be competent to run
1000 spindles with all the aparatus—the stream,
though small, having a great fall.
There is also a good site for a Saw-Mill and plen-
ty of fine timber.
The advantages of this situation for Cotton-Spin
ning or Wool-Carding, can hardly be surpassed.
The purchaser may have the whole tract of Land,
or such part as he may choose, a few acres only hav
ing been cleared. Apply to Col. Richard Holiday,
living a few miles below the premises.

also been Silver run out of the ore; the true value is
yet'to seek for. It is good for Cora, Wheat, &c.

BARGAINS TO BE HAD.
T HE Subscriber will be at Watkinsville in Geor
gia, from the first until the last of November
next, for the purpose of selling tho lands belonging
to the heirs of Col. Bedford Brown, deceased. The
land consists, in part of the following tracts, viz:—
about 1200 acres, being the greater part of the tract
on which Col. Brown lived, situated on the middle
fork of the Oconee river, six miles from Athene* and
about two and a half from Watkinsville; being one
of tho best and most desirable tracts of land in the up.
per part of Georgia. Ono tract, known as Campbells,
about three miles South of Watkinsville, containing
about 400 acres: also a tract about seven miles from
Watkinsville known as the Taylor place, contain*
ing about the same number of acres. It is also pro
bable that the mill tract will be offered; besides a
number of smaller tracts in different counties in the
upper part of Georgia. I would exchange a part or
the whole of the land for negroes, or for land in tbe
Western District of Tennessee, or Northern part of

A Proclamation*
GEORGIA.—By Wilson Lumpkin, Gover
nor and commander in chief of the Army and
Navy of this State and ofthe Militia thereof.
W HEREAS I have received official information
that on the 11th day of September inst. Milly
Morey of the county of Clark in said State, died of
wounds previously inflicted on her by John Grier
Maxey her husband, and that the accused has fled
from justice. I have therefore thought proper to is
sue this my proclamation,hereby offering a reward
of Two hundred and fifty dollars to any person or
persons who may apprehend and deliver the Fugitive
to the Sheriff or Jailor of said county, that he may
be tried for the offenca with which he stands char
ged. And I do moreover charge and require all offi
cers civil and military in this State,to aid and assist in
apprehending and bringing the said offender to jus
tice.
The said John Grier Mnxoy is about 27 years of
ago, small stature, about 5 feet 4-or 6 inches high,
full face, rather stoop shouldered, dark hair, and of
tolerably fair complexion, very fluent speech.
