BANK. RESUMPTION.
The Philadelphia Banks held a nice; in
the Gilt inst. and resolved to recommend the
resumption of specie payments by the Banks

Tea of the Banks were in favor, and four

was the United Slates Bank.
Public opinion in Philadelphia must he
growing decided in favor of resumption, or
Mr, Biddle's influence would not have been
so successfully resisted. That prince of ft

a national institution shall be chartered, form,

to give it tone, energy and direction—the

But if the recommendation of the Phikulcl-

the Souther.t I! inks do ? Baltimore must im
mediately follow—Richmond expresses its
readiness to resume simultaneously with Bal
