Oi.cvEt.Asn, Ohio, Aug. 23.—The Stark couuty Democrat, a peace paper, has been totally gutted hy Federal volunteers. PEACE FLAG RAISING AND A ROW IN CONNECTICUT. Dasbvrv, Cons., Aug. 23.—At the rais ing of a peace flag in Fairfield, ■Conn., to day, about 400 persons were present, when some of them attempted to raise the "Stars and Stripes.” The altein; t, however, was successlully resisted, whereupon a fight ensued, in the course of which two peace men, Messrs. Wild man and Gorham, were tee to make the necessary arrange- \ seriously injured. here to-day, Hon. H. Cobb in the Chair, and Hon. M. J. Crawford, Secretary. Hon. T. R. R.Cobb offered the follow ing, which was unanimously adopted: Resolved, That it is all impoitant that Georgia should have a hospital here lor the sick and wounded soldiers, and further, that an Executive Com mittee be appointed by the Chair for the purpose of making arrangements for said hospital. The Chair appointed the following gentlemen as the Exect tive Commit ments and remain here. Prof. II. F. Campbell, J. T. Patterson, and W. H. Richard, Esq., and to sustain the en terprise in Georgia, Judge E. Starnes. The meeting then •djourned until Monday. Louisville, Aug, 23.—Thcs Steele, who fought at Mauassas Las been ar rested here, while on his return South ward, and searched. This action was taken on tho strength of a telegraphic dispatch from Frankfort, Ky., to the effect that Steele was closeted with Gov. Magoffin, of this State. Kentucky politics are becoming van coraus. Mr. Steele had only personal and family letters with him, including several to Arnold Douglass. Garnette Davis is about to visit Washington, where he wilt insist upon the disbauding or removal of the enlis ted troops encamped iu Garrard couuty, Ky. The Ultra Unionists, and the Con servative Unionists are quarrelling among themselves. S. steamer Seminole, from the blockading fleet off Charleston, has arrived, bringing the schooner Albian, which was captured utf that putt. The Albian’s cargu consists of sugar, coffee, and fruit. She was sailing under British colors. The Seminole will take in coal here and repair. The blockading fleet oft" Charleston con sists of the Roanoke and Yandalta. Monetary.
