FRIENDSHIP.
i By Dr. Hawk*sworth.
t RIENDSHIP is the joy of reason,
I D'arer yet than that of Love.

I Friendship makes the bliss above.
Who would lose the fee ret pleasure
Felt, when foul wilh foul unites!
Other bleflings have their mejfure,
Fiiendfhip without bound delights.

She must have been a Terrible SO W !
IT has been a doubt with all those I have
ever conversed with on that fubje<ft,
what the word Taylor derived from, as this
probably may be of great use to those of
the profeffion, I think it my duty to tranf
mitto them as well as the public, my opin
ion on the definition of the word, and I
doubt not but it may prove as ufeful now
as in times of old.
I am informed, they formally set upon
a floor, until the ufeful invention of a
Shopboard absolutely became neceflary.
One day as there were about ten of them
fitting on a floor delighted with their a
musement—thoughtless of the great dan
ger that approached them—there appeared
a venimoui huge monster of a Sow ! and
began a terrible daughter, swallowing them
up greedily—-one more aftive then the
rest, (or lucky if I may so call it,) made
his elcape by leaping cross legged on a
table, Handing in one corner of the room,
there to behold the dreadful fpctflicle of
his brethren thus abuled.
But alafs ! all the poor fpeftator could
do, was to exclaim to the last which five
was then engaged with, (and I luppofe
her belly must have been pretty full,)
Tailher ! Tailher ! Tailhcr !
From that time they were called Tay
lors, and Shopboards erre£led.
I do this, in order the public may know
I have removed to the Shop of Mr. G
Poll, next door below Capt. W. Rich
ards, BROAD-STREET.
Being supplied with the best workmen
this place affords, I flatter rnyfelf I (lull
be able to execute business with neatness
and dispatch.
