any private Library, and to afford a con
stant supply of all such books as may be
ordered by any of their friends, on the
most reasonable terms.

THE Clerks of the Inferior Courts for
the counties who have made no re
turns refpefting elections of Receivers of
Tax Returns, and Collectors cf Tax for
the year 1800, to wit:
The Counties of Bryan, Burke, Cam
den, Chatham, Effingham, Elbert, Frank
lin, Glynn, Greene, Jacklon, Liberty,
Lincoln, MTntofh, Montgomery, Rich
mond, Scriven, Washington and Wilkes,
are required to make immediate return to
this Department of the proceedings or re
commendations by their refpettive courts,
if any, thereon ; and if none that they cer
tify the fame, in order that the revenue
may not fuffer from such neglect and that
Executive appointments may issue : And
the Receivers of Tax Returns who have
made default in a return of their digest,
prior to the year 1799, into the Treasury
Office, as the Tax A6ts required, and the
Receivers of Tax Returns for 1799, now
deficient in returning such digests, are no
tified that they are liable to a penalty of one
thou land dollars each, which the Execu
tive thinks it his duty, and is determined
to order the law department, to prosecute
them for without respect of persons—pro
vided the fame be not returned to the
Treasurer, on or before the tenth day of
May next.
Ordered , That the aforegoing be pub
lifiled in all the Gazettes of this State.

To all to whom thefsprejents fliall come or be seen:
KNOW ye, That whereas William
Cocke and James Scott, of the coun
ty atorefaid, on the fifth, day of January,
one thousand seven hundred and ninety-fix,
made their certain writing obligatory,com
monly called a Bond, whereby they ac
knowledged themselves held and firmly
bound unto Joseph Ware, then Sheriff of
the county aforefaid, in the penai sum of
five hundred and twenty-one dollars, to be
paid to the said Joseph Ware, his succes
sors or alfigns—Conditioned for the pay
ment of two hundred and sixty dollars and
fifty-two cents,von or before the fifth day
of May next, after the date of the said bond;
and whereas the said William Cocke and
James Scott, executed a Power of Attorney
at the foot of the said bond, authorizing
the confeffion of a judgment thereon by
an attorney at law: Now therefore,
the said William Cocke and James Scot;,
alledging the said bond to have been given
upon a consideration which has failed, and
for divers goodcaufesthem hereunto mov
ing, do by these presents, revoke, annul,
and declare void the said Power of Attorney
annexed to the laid bond to all intents and
purposes I the said Notary in vir
tue of the powers in me vested, and at the
special instance and request of the said
William Cocke and Jamps Scott, do so
lemnly protest against the said Power of
Attorney, and have recorded and publish
ed the revocation accordingly,
IN testimony whereof, I have here
unto set my hand and affixed my
Notorial Seal, this eleventh day
of March in the year one thous
and eight hundred.
