THE Clerks of the Inferior Courts for
the counties who have made no re
turns refpebling eleittions of Receivers of
Tax Returns, and Collectors of Tax for
the year 1800, to wit:
The Counties of Bryan, Burke, Cam
den, Chatham, Effingham, Elbert, Frank
lin, Glynn, Greene, Jackson, Liberty,
Lincoln, M'lntofli, Montgomery, Rich
mond, Scriven, Walhington and Wilkes,
are required to make immediate return to
this Department of the proceedings or re
commendations by their refpe&ive courts,
if any, thereon; and if none that they cer
tify the lame, in order that the revenue
may not fuffer from such negleft and that
Executive appointments may iflue ; And
the Receivers of Tax Returns who have
made default in a return of their digest,
prior to the year 1799, into the Treasury
Office, as the Tax Afts required, and the
Receivers of Tax Returns for 1799, now
deficient in returning such digests, are no
tified that they are liable to a penalty of one
thousand dollars each, which the Execu
tive thinks it his duty, and is determined
to order the law department, to prosecute
them for without refpeef of persons—pro
vided the fame be not returned to the
Treasurer, on or before the tenth day of
May next.
Ordered\ That the aforegoing be pub
lifiled in all the Gazettes of this State.

Reftlved , That all debts due this board
by note or simple contract be collected,
and that the interest on all sums secured
by mortgage, be paid up to the firft of
January, 1800 ; and that all sums not paid
to the Clerk within three months, be by
him indiscriminately put infuit, and that
proceedings be commenced as soon as pof
fible lor forecloling all mortgages where
the interest is not paid up to the time a
bove mentioned.

ately take place, for putting this board in
poflelfion of all the property to which the
equity of redemption has been foreclofed,
where the mortgagors have not availed
themselves of the indulgent order o£ this
board, of thrift day of March, 1795.

SAVANNAH STAGE, will in future
rim once a week—lt will leave Au
gu ft a every Saturday ’Morning at seven
o’clock, and arrive at Savannah on Mon
day Morning nine o’clock ; returning,
leave Savannah on Tuefday one o’clock,
p. m. and arrive at Augusta on Thursday
afternoon.
Fare for Paflengers, nine dollars,
with an allowance of 141 b. baggage—all
extra baggage 7 cents per lb.—-All bag
gage to be at the ri(k of the owners.
The Proprietors think proper to observe
that they find it impofiible that they can
afford the terms ofpafiage at the former
price of eight dollars, as they are now com
pelled to give at ieaft one third more for
Forragethan they have hitherto done.
