DESLK itu trum my Ktn ezvous at
Newberry, Court-House, Souh-Caroli
11a. about the 12th in6t. a Soldier who enlisted
by the name of JAMES SMITH,but whose
real name I am induced to believe is Dats x.
He is twenty-three years old five feet,
eight inches high, of fair complexion, blue
eyes and fair haif, had on when he went
away, a dark brown Great Coat with Panta
loons of the same, both new, a Calico Shirt
and sometimes wore a large breast pin or

The said Smith or Datson, went from this ,
to Augusta in Georgia, in the vicinity of
which place he borrowed a Horse, Saddle

Horae was a sorrel with some white about his
forehead, worth about fifty or sixty Dollars—
I am induced to believe he will make a stop
not far from Augusta, and very probably
offer himself to enlist again, as I have reason
to believe he has taken the bounty twice al
ready.
