THE Subscriber* having purchased a lease of this Elegant and commodious Estab lishment. inform their friends and the public in general, that their best exertions shall be used to render comfortable all those who may be pleased to call on them. They have a number of private Rooms handsomely furnish ed, separate and apart from the bustle of the Tavern, for the accommodation of those to whom such bustle would be unpleasant—And having determined to spare no pains in pro viding every comfort, they rely with confi dence upon the support of the puplic. Their Academy wil be kept at Mr. Leslie’s Long-Room, in Reynold-Street, and will be ready for the reception of pupils on the 31st of the present month. Days of tuition, Friday from 3 to 6 o’clock, p. m. and on Saturdays, from 9 to 12 o’clock, a. m. and from 3 to 6 p. M. A Night School, will also be opened for young gentlemen on Thursday, the 30th inst. commencing at candle light. Further particulars will be made known on ap plication at the above place. MONTAIS informs the gentlemen of Augusta, that as soon as he can pro cure a sufficient number of subscribers, he will open a school at Mr. Leslie’s Kong Room, lor the purpose of teaching the useful and manly exercise of the SMALL SWOItD, upon the modern and best approved system in that valuable science. Mr. Montais may be seen at any time at Mr. Leslie’s residence. October 24 3t 33 Wishes to Engage as Manager, or Overlooker, A MAN with a small family, who has been upwards of twenty years acquainted with the general culture of the southern states, viz. Rice, Cotton, Corn and Indigo—Has some knowledge of the nature and treatment ot diseases incident to people on plantations, particularly those of children. Would prefer a situation in South-Carolina, between Augus ta and Savannah; though no part of the southern states would be objected to, if not considered unhealthy. A stated per cent, on the crop, if the business be large, would be a agreeable as any other salary. Unexceptions able recommendations can be given, of hones ty, sobriety and industry—those relative to ability are not so recent; the individual being engagod, during the late war, in a cloth ma ftulactory, the expense attending which, and decline of the same in consequence ol peace, has urged him to return to his former avoca tion.
