T a meeting of (he Stockholders, holden
in pursuance of notice on Saturday the 2tst
instant. The Committee appointed for de
vising a plan by which additional towu'sub
scribers might he let in, made their report:
Whereupon it was Resolved, That the sub
scriptions for more than lifty shares, here
tofore received, should be reduced to fifty ;
and that the Capital Stock should he in
creased to One Million Five Hundred Thou
sand dollars.
It was further Resolved, That an install
ment of tw o per ceut, on the stock subscri
bed for by the town subscribers, should be
paid in, on or before the 23th instant, under
the penalty of forfeiture of Stock.
It was further Resolved, That a commit
tee he ap'<oiiitet! to received the required
advance ; which Committee should have (he
power of calling in a further installment of
ten per cent, oil giving thirty days notice.
Notice is therefore hereby given, That tits
Subscribers will attend at the Globe-Tavern,
on the 24th and 25tli instant, between Ihe
hours of it, A. M. and l, I*. M. to receive
the advance of two per cent from town sub
scribers.
The Books will be open for subscription
on Wednesday, the 2uth instant, at (lie same
place, and continue open from it at o’clock
every day (.Sunday’s excepted) until the
whole amount is subscribed for : And ail
new subscribers will he required to pay two
per cent at the time of subseriptiou on the
amount subscribed.

At a meeting of the Subscribers to the
Merchant’s Bank of Georgia, in the City
of Augusta, holden at the Globe-Tavern,
on the evening of Ihe 3d of March, 1818.
RESOLVED, That the term originally
limited for the continuance of the Huliscrip
tion he stricken out of the preamble sub
scribed to, and the first Monday of May en
suing, he inserted iu lieu thereof.
Resolved, That a committee office per
sona he appointed for the purpose pf fruqi
iug Rules and Regulations for tlie govern
ment of the institution, whose duty it shall
he to report a plan, tea meeting of the sub
scribers to be holden at the some place, on
the first Monday of April, ensuing.
Resolved, That the Chairman appoint a
committee of five persons to carry into efleet
the preceding resolution : When--upon the
following gentlemen were Appointed.
