Beauregard Straftrod, a colored man, w a« charged wilh Ix-ing a tramp, hut Plead not guilty, ard was dismissed on occoirot of no evidence. Pave Butter and t-iuls Wlllls.two col ored meet, were charged with violating the IKth section.. Both men plead guilty of raising a disturbance, hut were not fighting, as wns supposed. The case was dismissed. t&lsabeth Olliver and t.lllle is. two colored damsels, were charged with keeping a disorderly house. The cases against them were dismissed, but vew rases for the violation of the fam ous ISt h were made out. Tom Thomas and l.< t Barksdale, two negro hoys, became engaged In a diffi culty. In which Thomas was hit several times with a brick and Barksdale shot. Barksdale was lined $lO or twenty days. Thomos was hound over to the supe rior court under a JI OO bond for carry ing concealed weapons. Mr. Kd Stone wos charged with vio lating the ISth section. It seemed us though Mr. Stone had gone to the home of his sister in law and there used very had language. It M iso seems that he hot a pistol, which could not be seen. Bryan at the head of hi* Nebraska regiment on the way to Jacksonville and the colonel mourning a granite block on the slde wnlk made them a short speech which waa rrc -iveri with vociferous applause. After listening to the nomine* for the presidency, the Augusta veterans marched out to se* the governor, at the executive mansion and he made them stack arms anil conu? in. When bed time arrived the Augusta camps found the floor of a large build ing covered with abou seventy mat tresses, all neatly arranged for them and it wns not long before the old boys were tn the land of dreams, again tak ing part In the stirring scenes of thlry ty odd years ago. The Atlanta papers, in their ac counts of the parade, all gave the palm to our camps, the Constitution giving n particularly elaborate resume of ■ Maj. Withers' command, while the Journal commented ojy length upon Capt- Butcher's. ' Maj. Wither* requests Th? Herald to correct an error regarding the piY-sont atlon of the flag or banner in Atlanta. The flag was not presented alone to Camp 435. but to tbe Georgia division, and Company A was chosen as honorary escort fer tbo bannier. Capt. J. Rice Smith made a particu larly happy and felicitous response in accepting the flag. It is understood that Governor Atkinson will shortly fcrwnrd the charter for the camp as a home qtiard organization and it will be supplied, with brcech-loadlng guns. All of the returned soldiers and citi zens are unanimous in their opinions and expressions of the great success of the reunion, and nil praise Atlanta and her citizens for the complete manner In which they planned and carried out the various details connected with the annual meeting. An added impetus and vigor has been given to this annual meeting of the old soldier boys of the South by the very happy celebration in Atlanta and each and everyone looks forward to the reunion of '99 in Char’.eston—and may their ranks be still compact end full at the end of th-” twelvemonth— with eagerness and pleasure.
