It la always the beat milker that gives the moat trouble In milking. Thla Is really cause and effect, for having the udder tilled with milk mukea It very sensitive to the touch, and re quires very careful handling not to hurt the cow. The natural result la that sur'li cows are beaten and 111 used, thus causing them to hold up the milk usually to do some vigorous kicking »s the result of the pain they ore suffer ing. If there is a large amount of milk thus retained It Is likely to cause gar pet and permanently spoil the cow. Uencrully If tt*e cow kicks most milk men win cither kick back, or will take a infer means of getting far enough ownv so that the cow cannot kick them, and belabor her over the back Hind sides. Such measures are cruel and wholly unnecessary. If a ring Is put In the row's nose and her head Is fasten ed up so that she cannot get it down, She cannot kick. Koch vicious kick Is accompanied with a lowering of the head, os if to hook. When the cow goes to lower* her head she finds that tbe ring in her nose hurts her, and that at once will make her desist. Tt Is s very simple method, and has always provan effectual when tried. Have you any old gold or silver? Ts you have call at my new Jewelry store, where there is a lady in attendance, and we will either exchange for new goods or ell cash given. Lewis J. fcchoul, the popular priced Jeweler. Tbe robbery happened on Tuesday night, the 19th, and on the morn Ini? of the 20th I furnished as complete a list as possible, under the circumstances, and in less than twelve hours most of the goods which had been scattered throughout the city had been recovered and the thieves cap tured. saving us a good sum and much inconvenience and annoyance to our patrons.
