She pleaded >v!th Judge Baxter .that she was not I ready for trial, but could give no good reason for nol being. She was fined $7.50 and Mr. Rawls was levied on to ! the extent of *2.50. An official investigation of the Jail delivery mad > on Saturday night by a detachment of the Ninth cavalry discloses the fact that the men were led and prompted in their lawlosanesa by two white offi cers of the regiment, who were among the first to enter the Jail after the locks had been broken by the men. and who oiderwl the men to shoot and kill the Jailer if he refused to deliver their comrade.
