In the changes that have occurred
at Crouch Bros'. Drug Store, the How
ard & Wltlet Drug Company have be
come sole owners of two national pa
tent medicines. We refer to Dr. Gilder's
Pills and H. H. P. for Ihe liver. There
was a time when Gilder's pill* were the
most used In (ho South. New York hou
ses bought them by the hundred gross
at a Ume. Gilder’s pills were worth as
a proprietary medicine some $35,000 to
their owners. The same man who got
up the formula of Gilder's pills claims
to have been the original com pounder
of Dr. Tutt's pills. His claim haa al
ways hewn that Gilder's was an im
proved formula.
There arc many people who do not
like pills; H. H. P. was made for them.
It Is a purely vegetable liqiiid, acting
quickly 011 the liver and was owned by
the original owner of Gilder's pills. It
was sold all over the South In large
wholesale quantities.

The Rates For Porto Rico Promulgated
This Morning.
Washington. D. C., Aug. 19. Th*
war department today promulgated the
tariff rate* for Porto Rico. The rate is
the Spanish minimum tariff rates here
tofore enforced in the island. The to
bacco schedule is the same as that for
Cuba.
