Now York, Auk. 24.—One motqulto ■ of thu millions that are plnKulna Flat- ' hush is responsible for the death of a ' baby there. Harry, the Infant son of j John Grelsemnnn of No. 803 Flatbush I avenue, was the little victim of thcl plague. This year's visitation of the Insert | swarm has been the most severe in I many years. Mrs. Greisemann last Monday when she lifted her baby from Ills or Hi saw a tiny red mark on her baby’s dimpled ohln. She paid no heed to It, more than to take extra precau tions to protect the Infant. Hut the next day the chin showed a lump the slae of a 25-rent piece, but her household remedies seetnd to allay the pain and there seemd to be cause for alarm. On Wednesday the swelling had at tacked the baby's neck and had puffed up his fare to twice Its usual slse. Dr. William Applegate of Flat bush avenue was called in. He promptly recognized a case of blood poisoning which had progressed too far for his skill to be any avail. The child lingered in suffering until Satur- I day night and Ihen died. | i>r. Applegate has no doubt that the blood poisoning was due to no other cause than the bite of the mosquito.
