While supervising the pickling of some fruit yesterday evening, Mies Roe Smith was dangerously burned by having some boiling vinegar fall upon her. Her face, arms, breast and legs are badly scalded, and while the physician attending heir does not think the burns will prove fatal, be says they «ertain ly will be very painful. The largest fine ever paid in an Indiana court for the simple offense of profanity was settled today by Flora Clark, colored.
