Tomorrow being the first Tuesday In the month, It is public sale day at the court house. It Is a day when the streets adjacent to the court house are thronged with ve hicles and lots of faimers are in the city. It is a good time to get chenp horseflesh. i Leave Doors Open. Merchants or their employers are more careless than one would sunpoec about leaving (heir store doors open. Hardly a night pas ses but that there are from three to four stores reported by the police to have bee® found open. Saturday morning a bank door was reported open. The police are very vigilant about trying doors, which is an ex cellent rule. Whether this is done in all cities is not known, but it should be. There is to be another negro "sens aion” to Augusta on the 10th. Several hundred negroes will go, and those who are not forcibly detained by the Augusta police will come home happy, hungry and ready for the next cm'.
